Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

This! SO good. I ran across the it last April, and watched all three episodes through without stopping. Have the next three been released in the US yet? I've heard conflicting things about air dates, and haven't found them anywhere yet...
Netflix has the first 6.

Are there only 6? I have been heavily jonesing since I finished them (in one day).

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Interesting, I had heard good things about The River. Would you guys describe it as more mystery or horror/spooky? I'm a pretty huge wuss when it comes to that sort of thing, if it's more mysterious, I might give it a shot.
It's not horror or gore at all -- you have nothing to worry about on that score. There's some spooky atmospherics, but mostly it makes you want to claw out your eyes from the boredom, or send letter bombs to the writers for the cliches.

"Lost" as reruns would hold more surprises and originality.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I love Walking Dead. I can understand people's criticism of it, but I don't mind the show at all. One of my favorites on TV currently.

Anyone else still watching The Office?

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Season 2 of Breakout Kings starts March 4th. It's definitely a formulaic procedural, but Season 1 was surprisingly good.

It is official...How I Met Your Mother has run out of ideas...

I don't know...Barney not recognizing the stripper was a bit of a surprise.

Ted confessing to Robin on the roof...yeah, that's getting old.

And they were doing so well this season and then they decided to drag this out, get back to revealing who is getting married when Ted meets his future wife...

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

They have to stretch it out...isnt the wedding next season?

At least Kal Penn should be done now...his character had no purpose and well he just sucks in general :D

Ted and Robin, if it drags out, will be as stupid as when Sam and Rebecca were trying to have a kid :/

Meh, the whole season has just felt like filler to me. I hope that Ted is able to grow and mature because of Robin-redux-IV, but I'm not sure of that.

I think I started watching mid-Season 4 and honestly, most of it has felt like tired material. Yet I keep watching...

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I thought that last night's HIMYM was all right, but far from great. Though any time they focus a scene on Barney, it still has the chance to be EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!1!!!

If you're hung up on meeting the mother, then it's going to be a frustrating time for you. If you're just sitting back to enjoy the ride, then the show still has its fun. I decided sometime earlier this season that I'm giving up on meeting the mother. Bob Saget will die before that story gets produced.

Fixed.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I've successfully skipped the past two weeks of HIMYM. One more and I think I pick up my first chip. It's basically become like The Office; it hung around way too long and they've clearly run out of ideas.

I can't believe how legitimately funny New Girl is. It's nothing ground-breaking or particularly compelling plotwise, but delivers some really funny stuff, mostly from Max Greenfield, who is great on the show.

We meet the mother in the last episode (if she exists) it isnt about that. Ted can tell all the douchy stories he wants about the chicks he banged (to his kids) he is hardly the focus of the show anymore anyways. The problem lies in that Lilly and Marshall are pretty stupid now (a point Jason Segal has made publicly) and here we are, 6 years later or whatever it is already knowing Ted and Robin don't end up together but he just asked her to marry him. Really Barney is the only interesting character on the show, and the main reason I watch :)

I think the show would be better off if it ended this season because I have a feeling next season is going to even ruin Barney as they drag out his anxieties about long term relationships, his love for Robin and then his proposal.

BTW how terrible are Lilly and Marshall for staying out as late as they do while she is pregnant. I mean if they are in danger of only taking the drunk train home they aint leaving during Happy hour ;)
