Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Agreed. All I know is that there is no way we've seen the last of Mike.

My reasoning was that he was loyal to Gus' cartel/operation. There might even be some second-in-command that we don't know about (Gus was rather secretive), and now Mike is working for them. So, since he isn't loyal to Walt (right now), he takes him out because of his loyalty to Gus/Gus' operation.

I cannot see him working for Walt.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I don't know about Mike, but surely there has to be some pretty major consequences to killing Gus. He was a guy the cartel was afraid to kill. The question would be who would know Walt was behind the murder, and Mike is about the only guy left, so maybe that's how they get him back in.

On HIMYM, I'm not ready to blame things on the forth-coming baby. 'Ducky Tie' was somewhat baby-related and an excellent episode. I think it's just a case of not having 12 hours of story to tell this season. If it's like Breaking Bad and they only have one weak hour in an otherwise excellent season, I can let it pass, but if it continues like that, it's not a good sign.

Also, the level of alcoholism on that show is getting kind of depressing. I thought Barney and Marshall having to drink at work was bad, but the past two weeks, we've had Lily being unable to give up drinking for her baby, and Ted having only three places he could go before he had to bring his class to the bar he drinks at every night. I know some of that is show mechanics with set design/costs, but when you start breaking it down, Ted's life is pretty sad--again, show mechanics, but who has to bring their four best friends to someone else's wedding in Cleveland, twice?--and I think he has to make some pretty big changes in order to meet the mother.

I get that they have their rules, but this still doesn't gibe with the way they portrayed the club so far.

And that was a wild twist.

Dammit Clay. Haven't you learned your ****ing lesson. Jax should have double tapped him 2 seasons ago.

edit: Jax needs to pull his head out of his *** too. What a dumbass. OOPS! Nevermind. Well played, Jax.

Finished Season 2 of Breaking Bad. Holy...

I knew that Teddy Bear wasn't anything significant.

Loved the 737 Down Over ABQ thing they did though. Very nice.

Meh...of the all-time great sitcoms, one involved a group of alcoholic doctors who had their own still while another was set in a bar with only occasional scenes elsewhere. I'm not putting HIMYM in that class, but I'd hardly call it depressing or sad. I'd rather the hangout be a bar than generic coffee shop #121 like every other sitcom made since the early 90's.

He hadn't yet croaked when the episode was made. Basically the special was taking the viewers through a work week for the South Park team, and they happened to do it focused around the HUMANCENTiPAD episode.

Probably my favorite South Park of all time.

Wil Wheaton on Big Bang Theory this week. Woo?

Need to start watching this show again.

I think with HIMYM the alcoholism is akin to the smoking, they reach a point in their lives where they realize that alcoholism is being couter-productive.

Seems like they would have been better off waiting to kill Gus until a couple episodes before the series finale and then finish up the other conflicts. Compared to killing Gus there doesn't seem to be much drama in store going forward.

"Bars can be very sad places. Some people spend their whole lives in bars. Just yesterday, some guy sat right here next to me for eleven hours."

Yeah, that whole DEA thing doesn't have trouble written all over it. ;)

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I was working on my laptop, sitting in the hotel room, with the TV on in the background. I think I happened upon the least funny sitcom I've ever seen. Then I realized that its one that I'm recording, only because I saw that Elisha Cuthbert was in it, because I'm a big fan of Ms. Sloppy Seconds. Not even some decent Sloppy Second cleavage was able to save this terrible show.

Phil Dunfee: I'll admit I'm turned on by powerful women. Michell Obama, Oprah, Condolezza Rice, Ve....nus Williams, wait a minute...

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

New South Park, but I'm fearing they will do nothing new with the subject: Texans Vs Mexicans. I hope I'm wrong.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Uh-oh, the player I'm following was called out on Survivor. At least the tribe won immunity.

As for South Park, I thought it was sort of dumb. Although it was cool to once again see Cartman with authoritah. :D
