Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

Didn't South Park jump the shark like 6 years ago?

Once you get over the initial shock value, South Park's about the same as it always has been. About one out of every three episodes is great. Another third simply goes for the over-the-top shock value, and the remainder is simply an average episode.

Futurama tends to be steadier than South Park, since it doesn't have to rely on the shock value. It's high points are really, really well done (Jurrasic Bark, Luck of the Fryrish, The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings), and while it has some low points too (any episode centered on Zoidberg or Cubert), they seem fewer and farther between than South Park.

But it still doesn't take away from the fact that Seinfeld sucked.
Blasphemy.

And South Park is still awesome. Shake Weight episode might be the greatest ever and that was last year.

Amazing episode of Futurama tonight.
The anime one was especially good, I thought.

Re. the Burn Notice finale, I totally called that Anson was going to be behind it. That actor is so much better as a creepy villain (see also: Justified) than as a weenie (see also: Breaking Bad).

Shake Weight was friggin' off the charts hilarious. I can't put it above Critter Christmas, though, because of how twisted that whole episode was. FTR, "Assspen" is my 3rd favorite.

And sorry guys, "Seinfeld" is not, was not, nor will ever be funny.

It's good to know you lack a certain sense of humor...

Oh, I got whatever he was trying to do with the show. Not funny. Jason Alexander outside of Seinfeld? Friggin' hilarious. Michael Richards, except for that whole n* thing? Hilarious. Julia Louis-Dreyfus: meh. Outside the show or not. Jerry himself? Horrible.

Different kind of humor, but I find Ben Stiller repulsive for the same reasons. I get what he's trying to do, but good Parise, it's terrible. Except in Dodgeball. That was hilarious. Something About Mary gets a slightly above average grade (for his performance).

You sound like my dad when I try explaining why The Office is funny...

and so is Seinfeld...a show doesn't last NINE SEASONS if it isn't

Jersey Shore is on Season 4, IIRC. And that is more than 1/2 as bad as Seinfeld. Way more. Like, I'd rather listen to Justin Beiber for a week straight, no sleep, than watch that crap again.

reality tv, especially on MTV doesn't really count...

EDIT: Plus Jersey Shore doesn't have a 9.3 on IMDB and isn't ranked 16th all time for tv shows.

So you're saying there's hope?

The reason Jersey Shore is popular is the trainwreck-can't look away aspect.
