We've seen that attitude from Walt before, so I wasn't surprised by it. It wasn't really out of place behavior.

At the same time, it is a personality trait that seems so counter to his normal, pragmatic personality.

That's the point. He was stepped on, not respected, etc. Now, he doesn't even want to recognize his "normal" self. It's like seeing Tony Montana transform, just at a more-drawn out pace in tv time. Instead of 2 hours or so, we get 5 seasons.

I like how this episode ended. It wasn't like an explosion like the "Run." episode from last year. This is a slow burning holy crap ending.

That's a good call, to compare it to "Half Measure". Except we see the opposite here: Hank's all action in the beginning and neutered at the end. Jesse's seemingly hopped him in the Los Pollos Hermanos empire, he can't find Gus to save his life, he's getting pounded by his wife in the sack instead of the other way around, and he can't even figure out a forklift.

At a certain point last season, he was still a partner of sorts. An independent contractor. A major player. Now, he's got some fast food chick telling him that he can't go in the back of the store because he's not an employee.

Like you said, "bum or hero." I wouldn't say he has passed Walter, but I would agree he's on equal footing, just in a different way. It's not like Jesse is hanging out with Gus. He just gained Mike's respect, whereas before, Mike would have just as soon offed him, if it were up to Mike.

When Jesse came back for Mike, that sealed the deal. Jesse coulda disappeared with all that cash...

Considering they aren't going to start filming until next year, I'd agree. They're going to milk this. I will have no problem with that as long as the show keeps its quality.

Other news, which is probably old news for some of you:

The League season 3 starts Oct 6. Yay! BUT, for those who haven't seen season 2 (like me), the DVD release of that season is Oct 4. Ugh.

Californication season 4 DVD is released on Nov 1. That's a for sure buy for me.

Anyone watching Alphas on SyFy? Surprisingly great chemistry between all the people in the cast.

I refuse to get into anything new on SyFy...that channel is canceling good shows left and right... F* them.

Space from Canada is a great channel that I watched bits and pieces of when I was up there. That's what SyFy should try to be like.

Finally caught up on Breaking Bad. Good stuff.

Anyone else watch Royal Pains? Tony Hale (aka Buster Bluth) recently guest starred as a magician. I thought it would've been really funny if, when he was asked about his "tricks", he'd broken out "Illusion, Hank. A trick is something a whore does for money."
