By the way, has anyone watched Louie on FX? It just got picked up for a third season and having watched it from the start, I can say it's phenomenal each episode. I love Louis CK's stand up, but I have a hard time watching that show. It's just a bit too... awkward, for lack of a more technical term.

It's not as comedic as you would expect it to be.

Very dramatic, and it's frequently times it's even shot and edited like an art film.

Which makes stuff like this that much funnier to me:

See that is what I love about the show. I can honestly say that it would not surprise me if days in his life were exactly like how the show goes.

I agree--the situations have to be something he's lived through or at least darn close.
FM and I usually watch it together. I zone out until the stand-up portions. I freaking love his stand up comedy, the man is truly hilarious.

Gotta say I tonight is about the first time I'm happy to be living in Iowa during the caucuses.

Colbert's set to run his first SuperPAC ad on all 3 networks during the local news at 5, ostensibly to support Governor Perry.

I love Louie. There was a decent article about the show a few days ago, talking about how CK is having quite a bit of success by being like Donald Duck. Meaning that there isn't much continuity.

Yes he is...I saw him last October and he was hands down the funniest comedian around. He gets away with saying that no one should!

I gotta agree with Louie being successful due to no continuity...it is just random stuff that has no real connection whatsoever. Not unlike life :)

Ive been watching Northern Exposure all the way through for a while now. Up to season 4 (getting discs via netflix). Now that is a show that I miss. I would so live in the town of Cicily if it exsisted.

That is one of the funniest bits ever. The other two great ones he does are when he talks about how terrible his kids are (especially the Hide and Seek story) and where he talks about rape. I mean seriously people should riot over the stuff he says yet he gets standing ovations because of the way he says it!

If you get the chance there was a special called "Funny Talk" on HBO with Ricky Gervais, Louie CK, Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock where they talk abotu being comics and favorite bits they have...it is 60 minutes where you will be crying you laugh so hard!

David Cross is another one that gets away with a LOT. His priests/child abuse bit left me agape. I was laughing my arse off, but just about chastising myself because it was SOOOOOOO wrong.

Yes, indeed. To keep it related, and keep the discussion up, the show "Titus" was also hilarious (obviously from his standup, which was his real life). So many levels of wrong.
