After that post, it really kicked up a notch.
I haven't seen the Royal Wedding episode yet, but right now this is the second best of the season after Human Centipod.
Edit: and goddam a friend who found that The X-Files full series is on view-it-now on Netflix. Loved the show, and now I'm watching it from the beginning, again. (although my favorite episode is the one about the history of the Cigarette Smoking Man. Some GREAT sports quotes in that one)
After that post, it really kicked up a notch.

Haven't both kinda ran their course anyway...I mean SVU...I stopped watching that regularly 5 years ago and its on season 12. House...it seems like its the same thing over and over again...I mean its a good show but I hate when they keep dragging out shows.

Depends on the writers. I thought SVU was really well written this year. They went darker, with a much harder edge. The season finale was fantastic TV.

I don't think that show should have a happy ending. House is going to end the show in prison or dead.

Sure. That would be the easy way out. Having a show about a drug addict eventually destroying his life isn't exactly difficult to pull off. It's not like there isn't millions of examples.

The thought I had was if they brought the planet back, why do they need to clear off ours? Why can't they just stay there now that they got away from the supernova sun? There were many other issues with the plot, but that was my last one as the credits rolled. Everything on this show just seemed a little too convienient. They always had people exactly where they needed to be to pull off whatever crazy plan. Everyone knew about the first lady even though it was never officially confirmed until the very end.
Other unanswered questions that annoyed me:
Why Vicki stayed with Sean the whole time. They hinted there was some hidden reason but never went into too much back story.
The Event itself. 5 seconds of explanation which didn't make much sense.
Why Sofia had to get to that room. She could have had the canisters open the whole time.
The list goes on. Guess I'm okay with it not coming back but I am wondering where the writers were going with this one. Didn't seem like they had anything other then the scroll and some sort of inner planetary war to build off of.

Vicki/Sean: Initially, Sean had it set up so that if he didn't enter a code into his computer every X hours, a message would be sent alerting someone of the location of her son. Eventually, she grew to trust him and believe in his cause and a few episodes ago, Sean disabled the program and told Vicki but she stayed anyway.
The Event itself: Yeah, more information would have been helpful here, mainly for your initial question as to why they needed to "make room" if their entire planet was being transported. Other than that, I was okay with the limited explanation.

This was my thought as well.
It's unfortunate this story line never had a chance to play out because I would have been rooting for Vicki over Layla.

I didnt want that...I liked the storyline but to be honest House was getting too happy and that ruins the character. she basically destroyed him the way she ended it and the way he responded (in the finale) pretty much destroyed any chance of them working together again. The end of this season was awesome.
House will end the series exactly how it should, him solving a big case (my guess is Wilson gets sick or something) with his team. All he is is a doctor, it is what matters the most to him. A happy ending would be his team still being there and maybe him being without the leg pain.
As for SVU, this season has been very, the finale (while a bit predictable) was great! Too bad about Merloni though. Hopefully they will get the true series finale Law and Order never got.

I was hooked too but never that upset about watching it like I was Lost. I knew I had to watch Lost but I actually wanted to watch The Event. I think the big difference is Lost left too many questions that seemed critical to the story and just never addressed them again. The Event had to end quickly so I get the feeling they didn't get the chance to answer them all fully, like the issues with scroll and the event itself.
Second seasons of shows like this can be better at tying it all together. Fringe is a great example because season 2 brought everything together and did a great job with the storyline from a jumbled season 1. The Event could have done that with another season, but I guess we will never know. Good show. Not too upset that it's over but just annoyed at the ending.
