Of course half the reason these clowns dont like him is he ripped them to shreds for tarring and feathering anyone who dares tells an off color joke. Thank God Carlin and Richard Pryor are dead because they would be destroyed in today's culture by the Twitter Nazis. The Twitter Nazis are the true "worst white people" and it isnt even close. At least Nazis accept who they are...Twitter Nazis are just as hateful they just hate anyone who doesnt love everything they love. They also hate anything that might offend. They are the faculty at PCU...only they exist in real life. You dont have to think he is funny (that is a matter of taste) but the backlash by the uber sensitive ones is just pathetic. Whats worse, it is perfectly in line with everything he said about them. They dont even realize how big of cliches they truly are. They also dont realize how metaphor or jokes work...because they involves critical thinking.

Meh. There's two types of people, those that find raping children hilarious, and those that don't. Thanks for clarifying where you stand.

But seriously, you can like Dave Chappelle and find that set in poor taste.

You can add David Cross to that list, too. His bit on priests, while one of the most offensive bits I've ever heard, outside of The Aristocrats, is also hilarious.

Comedy is comedy. Just depends on what flavor you laugh at.

Edit: you know why it's funny? It pushes buttons, and makes you think.
Gilbert Gottfried started out a bit at a roast about flying in from NY, right after 9/11, the audience groaned. Then he started to tell the Aristocrats, and they (at first) groaned harder. Think about that. The most offensive joke in the world was more offensive than a national tragedy.

You can also like that set and not be a Nazi. You can also realize he isn't advocating for the raping of kids.

They didn’t groan because it was offensive. They groaned because the aristocrats joke is dumb.

You really don't understand the art of a bit? The Aristocrats, same base form, but you have to make it your own, and improv it at the same time. That's a dam art. Take the same joke and make it original...that's tougher than you think. The record time for that joke, as legend has it, is 90 minutes. I want to say it was Chevy Chase, but if not, it was someone of his stature in his prime. The joke has been around for 70 some years, at least.
It's not a joke you usually tell on stage. It's a comedian's joke.

It's not the joke itself that makes it timeless. It's the art of TELLING the joke that does that.

Here’s why I think it’s dumb.

If it was just a joke, that would be fine. Just like sometimes a film is a film. But people act like there’s some great truth to be learned from it.

There’s not. It’s just drive through comedy now. Everyone is copying White Castle. And while novel 70 years ago, it’s just not great anymore.

Here is why it's great. It has evolved through the times. What buttons that could be pushed in the 30s and 40s cannot be pushed now. That's tame. So, let's find new buttons to push, yet still be original. Let's find that one button that makes people gasp and say that is horrible, yet still laugh.

The joke is funny if the person taking it is funny.

Comedy is political but it isn't partisan. It can poke fun at goodness and joke about badness without eroding the distinction. This is something partisans never seem to understand.

A Holocaust survivor passed away, went to heaven, and told God a Holocaust joke.

God: Holocaust jokes aren’t funny.

Holocaust Survivor: I guess you had to be there.

Then the Holocaust survivor asked god why he allowed his chosen people to be virtually extinguished and god suddenly remembered he had a prior commitment.
