Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Finally started watching BBC's Sherlock and am happy that I did. Even though I was already a Cumberbatch fan I wasn't sure how he'd do in the role. I like the edginess he gives to Holmes in a way that is not that similar to Downey's portrayal. And unlike Downey he follows Coyle's characterization of having an aversion to women. I'd be curious to see how it would have fared had they done a period setting, but a modern day version works quite well.

I think you will find Freeman's Watson a delight.

You get your wish in the 2015 Christmas special ("The Abominable Bride") is an alt. universe episode with Victorian costuming.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Episode 2 of Westworld can be streamed now, if you're interested. I don't know if it's only available like that through HBO Now or all of their streaming services - app or cable/satellite provide.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

The pilot of The Exorcist was creepy and claustrophobic. I actually felt literal chills down my spine. A+.

The pilot of Luke Cage was brilliantly acted and plotted, with wonderful soundtrack. A+.

The bottle episode of Atlanta about Earn's wife ("Value") played pathos and slaptick together almost like Chaplin. A.

We are living in the golden f-cking age of television.
