Re: TV: Did you make Barry's List?

Ordered up the first season of Mayans MC, the Sons Of Anarchy sequel. Preview looks promising. It's not inventing anything new, but that's fine, as long as the story holds.

Re: TV: Did you make Barry's List?

Watched 3 episodes of Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime last night. So far the wife and I both like it.

We're on episode 6. Very good series. The Greer character is different than in the Clancy novels. He was a retired Admiral IIRC he was the CIA director before he died of cancer

Greer was always DDI, Deputy Director of Intelligence. Basically the head of the analysts like Ryan.

Huh. Never cared for telethons.

On a lighter note, just got done with episode three of sharp objects. I’m thoroughly disturbed by this show.

I love it.

Re: TV: Did you make Barry's List?

Jerry Lewis used to do an annual Labor Day Telethon for muscular dystrophy.

Old guys like Joe miss those days of scintillating entertainment from the likes of Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormet, and Perry Como. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Ahhhhh, the good ol' days.

Re: TV: Did you make Barry's List?

Finished the most recent season of Call the Midwife. Average 1.7 sobs per episode (the last 2 episodes skewed the average).

How is it that I have little interest in babies or childbirth, but I like this show?

Re: TV: Did you make Barry's List?

It's Labor Day. Anyone missing the telethon?

While I appreciate the work Mr. Lewis did for those suffering from muscular dystrophy, I never did watch it for more than a few minutes when I was a kid. When I was an adult, I never watched it at all.

Re: TV: Did you make Barry's List?

I watched it as a kid (and in that sense only I kind of miss those days of innoncence ;)) but don't think I've watched a single minute since about 1980.

Oooh, I'm gonna like this. It's a matter of how much, but there is a LOT of potential here. This is RIGHT up my alley.

Re: TV: Did you make Barry's List?

Y’all are insane. Sharp objects was great. I loved the ending. I thought the ending of Big Little Lies was cheaper, but I still liked that show better. That being said Sharp Objects was still a hit for me.

Nice to see the trailer for the new True Detective pop up.
