TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Mr. Spencer's Dad did note that Ian is "impulsive and passionate", which made me wonder about his status as a red herring.

I'm impressed that ABC Family is airing a show where one of the central characters (and a minority) is gay. (They do lean politically to the right and used to be Pat Robertson's Family Channel before he sold it to Fox and they sold it to Disney/ABC...it still airs the 700 Club several times a day). I'm curious about how they'll continue to handle that storyline.

Ian is definitely sketchy, in frat-boy-gone-bad kind of way. What do you think their big secret is? I think Melissa is already pregnant - but not from Ian. Then the question would be why Ian agreed to marry her - maybe guilt from cheating on her with Alison (and who knows how many other girls)? But I may have completely different theories after I watch this week's episode. :)

Emily's mom = mega *****

I have no idea what the big secret is, I hadn't really even thought about it because of everything else going on. Not sure Ian would marry Melissa if she's already pregnant, he doesn't seem to be THAT good of a guy.

I can see Emily's mom being not too far off the mark for a Hispanic mom who was raised in a traditional Catholic culture. Should she try and be more understanding because it's her daughter? Yes, one would hope, but realistically, I'm not sure that's too outlandish. Happy her dad supports her after his initial reservations and shock. Too bad he's leaving again!

They were having that super secret conversation that Spencer was eavesdropping on, and the next day Melissa "accidentally" drops the bag with her ovulation test and tells Spencer it's a secret ("ohhhh, that must be what they were whispering about" - although I think Spencer suspects it's bull****). Now that I say this, I think they are hiding something else (see, I already changed my theory!). Maybe Melissa and Ian are BOTH A and working as a team. I still can't figure out why they got married, though. It also entered my head that Ian is gay, but doesn't want anyone to know (but told Melissa), and Melissa really does want to have kids, and that's why they got married. I think they BOTH have some sort of secret because neither of them is a good enough person to do something nice for anyone. It doesn't sit right that super motivated career girl all of a sudden wants to have kids, right after they were caught discussing secrets and needed a cover.

And if they're caught, they can't be forced to testify against each other because they're married. I completely forgot about Monday's show. Thankfully they rerun these shows during the week so I recorded it. Will probably watch tonight as everything is repeats tonight.

George Sr.: They can't try a husband and wife for the same crime. *wink*

Michael: Yes they can.

George Sr.: I have the worst ****ing attorneys.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

My 8 year-old walked in while watching Idol tonight:

Son: What happened to the mean guy with the accent?
Dad: Simon?
Son: Yeah, Simon.
Dad: He left the show.
Son: Oh.

Son: So they replaced Simon with a weird guy with big lips and long hair?

George Michael: Don't call it that.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

The new Spartacus: Gods of the Arena picked up right where the last one left off-lots of sweaty men, blood and gore, and nekkid women. Even Lucy Lawless wasted no time in getting her clothes off.

As I had predicted, this one looks to be pretty similar to the last season, only instead of struggling to keep his ludis afloat, Batiatus is struggling to build it into something, while Crixus plays the Spartacus role of slave transformed into king of the ludis. Nice to see some of the old gladiator faces though. Seems to be set only a few years before the first season.

Please tell me Viva Bianca is in this prequel series...

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Not yet, and don't expect her to be. But they've got some other girl from Lucretia's(Lucy Lawless) past, and I think she may be from the Isle of Lesbos, if you get my drift. At least, judging from the last scenes of the first episode, she appeared to be.

I watched it last night. Pretty good. It'll be nice to see the back story.

I watched the first episode and it started pretty good but I am hoping it is basically not a rehash of last year with Crixus essentially being Spartacus and the Governor general and Tullius replacing Gaius Claudius Glaber and Solonius from Season 1.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

No, I think that's basically what it will be. Throw in a little patricide, and you've got the major plotlines for the season. Instead of Batiatus plotting against Solonius, he'll be plotting against his own father. And this new girl Gaia playing the Viva Bianca role.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Season 4 of Californication is kicking some serious butt!

Props to the chick band playing some old school Misfits :)

Stupid torrent site doesn't have Ep 3 or 4. :(

And yes, I know about your site, but haven't gotten it to work right, and the SHO site bleeps out the cussing/etc, which I think is really part of the fabric of the show.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Yes do not, under any circumstances, watch Episode 4 without Episode 3 first. Something you can get away with that but in this case you will be completely in the dark!

BTW if you click on the "Watch Episode Here" links a little further down on each episode link on the site it should work. Look for Megavideo it is the best of the choicees. (in fact just go to Megavideo and watch)

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Is anybody else watching Lights Out? I think it is pretty good, not great but worth sticking around for the rest of the season. Also psyched that Justified returns next week.
