TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Big Bang Theory doesn't have a laugh track. I get the DVDs when they go on sale, and they did a tour of the set for one of the extras. They pointed out the studio audience, probably to make the point that they don't use laugh tracks. The thing about a studio audience, though, is that they're probably excited fans of the show and therefore very ready to laugh at a joke.

Either way. I still think it sucks. And being a huge nerd that I am I do understand the jokes they are trying to make.

Yeah, during the credit screen where they have weird sayings and quotes they had a pic of the audience from that evening because they were accused of using a laugh track.

Another trucker has left IRT: Deadliest Roads. Although this time it was a family thing. His 21-year-old daughter, who has cystic fibrosis, is in the hospital, and might not make it. It was tough to see him talking about it; he was bawling his eyes out.

He doesn't even look that old, to have a daughter that age. Hope everything turns(ed) out okay.

Just fount BEAVIS and BUTTHEAD: The Mike Judge Collection on NETFLIX... Tonight is a good night :D:D:D

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Videos included? That's a big detail.

No Videos really... There are like 4 or 5 at the end of the 3rd disc, but that's it... My understanding is that there was major problems with the licensing of the videos or something like that... Because of legal problems, most were never eligable for DVD release... I know that there was a box set released for a few days back when I was in high school that got pulled immidiately for having videos on it...

That is why I asked. The video licensing/royalties. There are maybe a handful of good episodes. The video commentary is where it's at.

Just got around to watching last week's episode of The League; the wedding video was out of this world. :D

The League has been up and down this season to me. It seems for every great episode they have had, there has been a dud the next week.

Last week's was awesome though.

Dexter was solid again this week...but I'm not sure where the series is headed.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

So I finally finished watching SNL from this past weekend. They're on the verge of making the show pretty good. The most important thing is to stop letting Seth Meyers be head writer. He's very one dimensional and as head writer cuts and edits sketches as he feels fit. At this point I think they need to go to a more open format because you're just not going to find a head writer in the current cast who can bring it like those before. This group of featured cast members are promising and with the right elimination of cast members (Kenan Thompson, Seth Meyers) and highlighting the better talents (Samberg, Hader) they can bring it around.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Just wondering: How long did it take to meet that person's mother? I mean, HIMYM has been on the air since 2005...by the time he meets her he'll be old and gray...

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Heh. South Park took long enough (2/3rds of the show) but the payoff was pretty decent. Not as good as the past couple, but not bad at all.

WHAAAAAAAAAAT? (Or maybe I should ask, "What up with that?") Kenan is hilarious, his Jimmy McMillan was one of the best things about last week's show. That and the awesome Brett Favre no-fly jeans. What they really need to do is stop writing sketches where the whole premise is "Kristen Wiig acts silly" because that is not funny.

What's so unrealistic about that? Not everyone gets married when they're 22 (and if that happened in HIMYM it would be a sitcom with a totally different premise).

Finally got around to watching last week's Jersey Shore season finale. Don't know what I'm going to do without those meatheads and airheads to brighten my Thursday evenings!

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I already hate myself for using the douchiest adjective around right now, but last night's Modern Family was EPIC. Laugh-out-loud funny from beginning to end. I think Cameron might be the most enjoyable character on all of TV.

Totally agree. Kenan is very funny. The no-fly jeans had me rolling. Even my wife who has no clue about the Farve texting incidents thought that was hilarious. And the sooner Wiig leaves the better!
