TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

My take on the new shows I have watched so far.

The Whole Truth I liked this quite a bit, kind of a mini version of Murder One, the case in 1 episode rather than a whole season. Unfortunately with the low ratings for the pilot it may be cancelled soon.

Detroit 1-8-7 was okay I kind of expected a Homicide clone which is what it kind of reminds me of.

The Chase Okay will probably still watch but not sure how long it will last.

I also have Hawaii 5-O on tape and will see what goes on with that.

I'm amazed they have a Save Lonestar campaign after 1 episode. I also was amazed that The Defenders did as well as it did with Jerry O'Donnell in the cast I figured it would be the first to get cancelled. I am going to wait and see if The Event lasts the year and then I will Netflix it. i am not going to go through what I did with Flash Forward last year again.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Anyone still sticking with Rubicon? While it's been a bit slow, I'm still really enjoying it.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Hadn't realized Melina Kanakaredes had left CSI NY. Was kinda bummed when I saw the cast changes in the opening credits.

Anyway, cast changes, moved to Friday nights, I see cancellation in the near future.

Considering she was my favorite CSI character over all the 3 shows that was certainly disappointing. I see cancel in the near future as well.

Bummer on "The Whole Truth" getting no ratings. I really enjoyed it and I love Maura Tierney.

Oh, well.

A bit slow? Yeah, you could say that. ;) I'm sticking with it though, it seems to have picked up at least a little bit in the past couple of weeks. And I actually don't hate the Will getting involved with that girl storyline as much as I thought I would.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I think Rubicon has been great. I'm really glad it's on AMC and will get a chance to work things out.

Also, pretty violent night on AMC between Cale having to choke a ***** and Lane Pryce getting a cane-noggining.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Hawaii 5 0 I was bored with it ala NCIS: LA ... probably need to give it more time.

Reruns:

My timeline watching Lost:

Watched the Finale (thought it was pretty "good" ending).
season 2 (hatch/number story was excellent and character driven mostly). season 1 (interesting intro premise and character development).
season 3 (others: very weak story line that made no sense (or maybe too much) and they muddied the characters and seemed like it was directed/written by a different person(s) by the style change)

How I met your mother: wait for it...
Legendary. funnier than I thought it would be.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I told you like 6 months ago, the finale was awesome! Seriously I dont know how Hank gets out of this one, unless it is a bait and switch and the truth really hasnt come out yet to the cops...

I didn't doubt you. :p

Well, she said she wasn't going to press charges, so he only has that latest skirmish (plus the last couple minutes). Given that he's all famous and stuff, there's enough loopholes for him to get out with only minor damage, but expect a few touching moments/superdramatic turns right away in season 4.

The positive part is that the book is pretty much his again. The negative is the cops part, although the press would be great for his book.

If she doesn't press charges, though....dunno how the laws are in CA.

And then there's the obvious drawback to that thing, too. That's gonna be interesting.

And Marcy better not have left the show. She's hilarious. (haven't checked out anything about season 4, but there is an opening for her to leave, now)

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

She doesnt have to press charges Statutory Rape can be brought by a guardian. You dont think her dad would think twice about screwing Hank over?

My guess is though the cops arent there for that, most likely the whiny book dude had him charged with assault.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

Dexter was fantastic. :)

Yes it was. I have no idea where they plan on taking this season, but I'm intrigued. It was cool to see the human side of Dexter start to emerge there in that bathroom, and his eulogy hinted at him embracing it.

Prior to that, the whole episode had this numbed, choked feeling, with Dexter battling this new mix of shock, horrific grief and rage with his usual perfectly stoic, un-phased self.

Re: TV 5: Cliffhangers and Intros!

I've been told I should start watching this. I see Netflix has all of the early episodes streaming, so I could get caught up quick.

Oh it's a great show. I tell people to give it half a season. Episode 6 in Season 1 got me hooked. :)
