TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

30 for 30 is always good. “I’m just here for the riots” on the Vancouver Canuck 2011 riot is no exception

edit- the New York rangers doc airing right after 30 for 30 is excellent

Edit: the ny rangers doc was better than 30 for 30. About nypd officer that was paralyzed on the job and was a big ranger dan and the 94 cup run.
coincidentally the 94 cup run also featured in the Vancouver 30 for 30 for obvious reasons

Spending a lot of time right now in bed with my best buddy. He’s likely going to be crossing the rainbow bridge here shortly and the bed is one of the places he seems to feel comfortable as his dementia seems to be hitting hard. So, decided to do my second rewatch ever of “Lost” one of my all time faves.

those early seasons are so good.

Severance returning for S2, unfortunately. S1 was great; they should have wrapped it up. Now they will destroy it, cf. West World, Killing Eve, Heroes, Riverdale, Glee, True Detective, Orange Is the New Black, etc... Special awards to Wanda Vision and Loki which jumped the shark at the midway point of the first season.

Take the win. Leave money on the table. Don't shart on your art.

I’ve been very concerned about this, too. (That season ender was perhaps the greatest single episode in TV history.) But at the same time, I can’t wait for season 2 of Severance.

I'm curious enough and think they have enough for S2. Of course S2 means S3 and S4 and so on so at some point it might jump the shark. But oh well.

Yeah, that was a bit shocking, even for this universe.
Have you read the book?

What is shocking is how tame the scene was compared to the book. My friend and I were both dumbfounded. We didn’t want to see the book scene played out- I mean Jesus- but this show hasn’t really toned anything down.

I’ve seen several headlines today questioning why the scene was softened so much so I’m not the only one confused.

I have not read it, so it is odd to tame it down while it still being terrible. (The sounds)

Kind of pointless to wimp out on it then.

Watched the 3-part Nat Geo series One Day In Jonestown about the massacre. I still remember to this day seeing the Time Magazine cover when I grabbed the mail coming home from school, and sitting down with my mother and father to talk over the events. I’ve seen other documentaries about this story, but this is the most detailed one by far.

Was it better than The Red Wedding which was maybe the most overhyped moment of the series?

(I didn't read the books but plan to start this summer)

Wasn't that scene the very reason they wanted to make the TV show in the first place? Pretty sure I read that. It became clear that they had no plan or idea after that.

That’s because they weren’t supposed to catch up to the books and have nothing left. Martin was supposed to come out with one if not two more books to continue feeding the show. His publisher is still on his case…

I have to think finishing now would be harder...since there is already an ending out there. Anything that strays close to the show will assist to be him just copying.

It will never happen.
