TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

The Shogun finale was absolutely brilliant and imho for all the right reasons. It was such a non-Hollywood finale with its subtleties, and continued focus upon characters and relationships. The first 10 minutes had me worried, but they nailed it.

Agreed. The other thing I appreciated is the lack of grandiose, budget-suck battles. Maybe in a future season, but so happy they didn't do it. I kind of figured that was going to be how they ended but they did it much more stylish than most. Not too long, not to abrupt.

the flash forward got an instant "holy shit" from me.I was surprised they went that route since it basically gives him plot armor from now until the end of the series. An interesting choice since that timeline wasn't really used at any point after.

I'm still reeling from them killing off Mariko. That was not expected and very Game of Thrones-like. I thought she was going to be a great mainstay and figured Sarai would probably get several awards nominations over the course of the series. I imagine she'll get a nod this year.

but yeah, it was great and I'm very excited for the second season.

I think Blackthorne's visions were just that and he never leaves, and Mariko's fate followed the novel.

My new Bachelor is a show called The Circle. It's part of the Nick Lachey F-ckboy Universe (the NLFBU), along with Love Is Blind, Perfect Match, and Too Hot to Handle. These shows are not to be confused with Love Island.

Needless to say, this is the art that is our age's Birth of Venus.

dx, what I’m reading is that you’re putting out there something that makes these men lose their ability to control their most base urges.
