TV 19 - Simpsons Did It

Seems to be common way of feeling after multiple seasons

I reserved myself long ago to accept that Carrie is going to make the wrong choice no matter what and to try and otherwise try to enjoy other story arcs and character developments. The only season I truly despised was 3 or 4 (I've long since forgotten). As horribly convoluted as the ending was I will still have more fond memories of the series than not.

I finished Fleabag. It was hilarious.

Probably going to finish Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and start either The Boys, Upload, or Utopia. I also heard lots of good things about Man in the High Castle...

The Boys is great. Great!

MitHC blew.

But if you know my Mrs. Maisel Grand Unified Theory I'm pretty sure we fly on different beams. :-)

Handy, technically, I am being paid for doing online training for my new job. In truth, I've been bingeing Psych on Amazon Prime.

"You met Gladys Knight?"
"Just the Pips."
"Actually, a Pip. The other two were stuck in traffic."

I thought The Man in the High Castle started out fine, and was interesting, but by the end of the first set up episodes had careened off into a weird place.

Yes, me too; exactly in fact.

It was great eye candy though.

The actual story cannot be done right -- I've read it four times and I still don't think I really understand it. The plot and the Nazi alternative universe have nothing to do with it, they're just stage props that PKD was having some fun with (to great effect).

Ugh. I had super high hopes for this show. I hadn’t started it yet but assumed it wasn't going to be bad

Give it a try, though, your mileage may vary.

I've gotta say a lot of my disappointment was compared to the book. If you have not read it or can let it go then you may enjoy it, it just is a completely different project that happens to share the same gimmick.

I'd never seen or heard Adele before last night's SNL.

1. She's a more talented comic foil than half the cast.
2. She has a beautiful voice and great charisma.
3. Her songs are terrible and they all sound the same.

She needs to pull a Ronstadt and just do covers.

I'd have to look up my thoughts on it I posted before. I liked it, but it did seem to go a little off the rails.

Yes you did. You watched Skyfall, even if you hated it. She won the Oscar for best song for that one.

Never heard, or never heard of?

Of course I'd heard of her. I don't live in a cave; I just have standards.

Although, let's look at the current Billboard top 10 songs:

0 0 never knowingly heard song; never heard of musician(s)
0 1 never knowingly heard song; heard of musician(s)
1 0 knowingly heard song; never heard of musician(s) <-- the Weird Al thingy
1 1 knowingly heard song; heard of musician(s)

1. 0 0
2. 1 1 (I have heard of Cardi B)
3. 0 1 (I have heard of Drake, not the other one)
4. 0 0
5. 0 1 (I have heard of BTS if they're that K-Pop group of like 40 guys)
6. 0 0
7. 0 0
8. 0 0
9. 0 1 (I have heard of Styles; I also know the Richard Brautigan novel and bet most of you don't. It is meh.)

Not knowing the billboard Top 10... AKA how to spot someone without a TikTok account...

Dr. Mrs. has the worst taste in TV of any person I have ever met:

Pen15
Mindy Project
This Is Us
Modern Family
Awkward
Jane the Virgin
Ugly Betty

I am convinced that every one of these shows is written by misogynistic Incel males who just want to make fun of the superficiality of Gen X and Millennial women.
