Slow Horses - British spy series about a group of disgraced MI5 agents being managed by Gary Oldman's equally on the outs spook Jackson Lamb. Kristin Scott Thomas plays Oldman's boss.

There's nothing groundbreaking here but through 3 episodes I've been impressed enough.

Was E9 of Severance the finale? I sure hope not. It was fantastic but ending the season there would be a bummer.

Is AppleTV+ worth getting? I saw they have the Fraggle Rock reboot too.

I really don't want to pay for yet another streaming service. I'm already p*ssed MLBtv made a couple games a week AppleTV+ exclusive because that means I'm paying more to MLB for less games.

MLBtv claims it's to "expand the fan base watching baseball," but yet they're shrinking the existing fan base by making these games exclusive elsewhere.

I think apple is worth it. I bundle it into Apple Music.

slow horses and suspicion are both good new shows. Severance is phenomenal (Steven king is obsessed) and besides Ted lasso they have some quieter hits. I think their quality has been better than competitors of late. Netflix is nearly pure trash at this point

I think if you are an Apple person it is probably worth it...otherwise I guess it would depend how many shows and movies you plan to watch on it. I have like 5 people who offer to let me use theirs for free and I don't. My girlfriend logged in for a day to see, doomscrolled for 20 minutes and never went back because nothing grabbed her. Meanwhile I have friends who talk about it non-stop...

I've been watching or is in my Netflix queue:

-Return to Space
-Cracow Monsters
-The Great Robbery of Brazil's Central Bank
-Murderville
-Archive 81
-Young Wallander
-The Chestnut Man
-Fauda
-Taxi Driver
-Seven Seconds
-Undercover
-Bad Blood
-Case 39
-Space Force
-Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey
-Worst Roommate Ever
-Maid
-In From The Cold

Yes I watch a lot of foreign series but for me there's still plenty of quality stuff out there depending upon your tastes.

Killing eve finale was …bad.

I have some thoughts:

Eve is what we think of as our true self. Our "feelings." Anyway, it's the point we start out from -- what's on teevee tonight? Let's call her our "moral attention." Villanelle is our fasciation with evil. Alluring (sexual), ironic (distancing), unable to be cooped up. Something we are both scared of and very intimately proud of. Carolyn is our cold rationality towards the good. She is hardly "good" itself -- this show has tons of evil and almost no good at all. But, let's say she's practical. You can't run around axing your boring husband in an ordered society. When somebody kills your son you may feel nothing but, well, it's like when Sam Spade's partner gets killed, you're supposed to do something about it.

We all spent this show indulging ourselves in the horrific murders that we have seen a million times on teevee in our lives. The finale pulls us up short, deliberately denies us our payoff (in a glorious middle finger to us) and leaves us wide awake once again. It kills the adoration of evil (Eve/Villanelle) in us.

What were we "rooting" for? Redemption? We've already been through that, with Villanelle-Christ. It's not possible in a moral universe. Villanelle is a monster.

Eve is an average person who takes a moral holiday. Her apotheosis in her Magical Ending with Villanelle is doing a pathetic line dance at a wedding with strangers. We are infuriated to miss all the juicy intimate details of the money shot of the show below decks -- the Gotterdammerung we were promised. All we can see up close is Eve's attempt at forced happiness, above. We're punished for our voyeurism. Eve has clawed Haggis Barbie's eyes out to drive it home.

But Carolyn, the Judas who sells out Villanelle, is no prize either. She's also a sociopath. She obliterates The Twelve out of self-interest, since she literally started it. She isn't a proper conscience after all -- whatever aspect of empathy there was in her died with Konstantin, who is murdered in a misunderstanding.

Pam is the only even slightly morally acceptable person left, and she makes the one possible good choice: she politely says thank you and peaces out. She isn't going to be a thing we watch. Pur living room is no place for a decent person.

So, what's left after all this is done, and all Eve's karaoke ghosts have faded, and we three left alone?

Losers.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. If that's what they were going for, solid A. And if not, well, so what, mine's better.

If I recommend any series of the past 6 months even if possibly outside your comfort zone it's Tokyo Vice with Ansle Elgort or whatever from Baby Driver. Fucking watch this.

It's on my list. Waiting for the season to finish so I can binge it. Glad to hear it's good

Severance is the latest show to crap all over itself by forcing another season.

A shame as the finale had all the elements to be great. Instead, we will now just play out the string, run out of ideas and into cliches, the interesting creative talent will get bored and leave, and the remainder will be work-from-formula mediocrates, all so some even dumber fucks with money can milk it for more money.

Tell us how you really feel. ; )

Yeah I was torn on the ending for not bringing more closure, and I too am skeptical that a second season won't wear the shine off a brilliant first.

I loved the finale.

I loved everything about it except it wasn't final.

These vampires will never understand that less is more.

Also the show better sweep the acting awards because my god Scott, Cherry, Lower, Tillman, Chernus and Turturro deserve a waffle party.

And the writers better get on the podium. The passages from The You You Are alone are such incredibly wonderful parody while still being both believable and useful for the story arc. That is the art of screenwriting.

And then blow the whole thing up, so no one can tarnish it like West World, Legion, Mr. Robot...

It was a brilliant single season show. Don't betray it.

SNL with Lizzo was great, and she was amazing. I had never even heard of her before and now I am absolutely enchanted. What a great woman. And holy fuck WHAT a voice! I want to hear her do Ella's repertoire. And Aretha's.

I will remember severance season 1 like I do season 1 of twin peaks.
Like I said, give stiller the tenth episode and then end it. Would have been epic
