Sounds like Pedro is prioritizing TLoU over mandalorian. Not a big deal for me as I don’t watch that.
loved Pedro in GoT- one of my fave characters. Glad he’s getting so much more work now.
That’s good to hear, Joel is the central character in the game so it’s good to see Pedro taking the role seriously (I hope).

I'd not heard of this until now. Does anybody think this will be any good? For myself, I loved Resident Evil and hated Walking Dead.

With hbo making it, it has a chance.

ive never played the game.

The developer Naughty Dog somehow hit a stride making great storytelling in games beginning with Uncharted 2 all the way to TLoU 2. I'd recommend finding a no commentary playthrough of Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, The Last of Us , Uncharted 4, and The Last of Us 2 if your interested.

Uncharted is a series of action/adventure/puzzle solving/shoot em up games. It's a mix of Indiana Jones and Die Hard. Veteran voice actor Nolan North is the main character Nathan Drake. Uncharted 2 has the best opening sequence in any media ever, seriously it's that good. There's a film version with Tom Holland coming out next year though I don't have great hopes.

The Last of Us is a survival horror type of game mixed with a father-daughter but not actually father-daughter relationship storyline. So like Walking Dead mixed with The Professional. It's easily one of the best single player video games ever made. Given the people involved with the TV production, I have good hopes for this.

Thank you for the description.

The Last of Us storyline in the game is solid... one that has the tendency to stay with you for a long time. My fear with the HBO production is that it becomes just another World War Z (also a fairly decent game, but not close to the level of TLoU). I am curious how the Clickers will be portrayed, and I suspect many encounters will be similar if not identical to the World Health Organization scenes in WWZ. I am excited for this HBO production, but my expectations are low... the game storyline was just that good.

At risk of derailing this thread to a game thread (apologizes in-advance), I am fully-addicted to the Uncharted series. At 50+, I cannot compete with the general population... visual impairments, slow reflexes, arthritis, and ‘button confusion’ limit my skills, so yeah, I suck and I know it. But the Co-op modes in these games are awesome, and allow old farts like myself to enjoy multiplayer gaming without having to buy a new TV every 2-3 months because a game controller or a beer bounced-off the screen. I should not admit this, but I’ve spent the better part of the past 3 weekends on Uncharted 4 Survival Mode, and ranked-up quite a bit. In Multiplayer (competitive) mode... rank 2. I feel shame. :0(

Cheers!!!

SNL was lame but the Peloton ad was brilliant.

I also loved the "lists" skit, which I'll bet everybody else hated. I thought it was a perfect, spare essence of Vaudeville comedy in the style of Abbot and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, etc. There was nothing else to it, but it was just a love letter to old, simple, stupid timing comedy.

That was definitely written by Bowen for Bowen.

It will be interested to see what the cast is like after this year. Both Aidy Bryant and Cecily Strong missed half of it so far filming other stuff, Kate McKinnon has to be gone soon, Keenan's sitcom will fail miserably but maybe that means he's had his fill. Half of the featured players are just younger versions of existing cast members (one guy is a younger Kyle Mooney, one gal is a younger Aidy Bryant) or someone named Punkie.

As long as Kate is there it will be good more than it's bad. I have pretty much decided now she's the greatest SNL cast member of all time.

And as long as the Weekend Update pair stay that will be worth watching. It is impossible to watch those two interact and not feel good. I get what Scarjo sees.

Ha! I was just texting with my brother and told him the Peloton ad was the best part of the show. The lists skit was also funny. Regina King sold that.

Regina King sold that.

I agree. I was worried about her after the monologue that was so weak not even Keenan could save it -- I mean, who needs to be bailed out on their own monologue?! -- but she was entirely cromulent for the rest of the show. She completely carried the White Cringe Dating Game skit which Dr. Mrs. and I could barely watch it was so on point.

I dont get irate it is one of the best things to mock you about :^)

OK, I'll allow that.

I have no idea what he thought he was doing. Protecting the show? He was just digging the hole deeper. Even the woman (or her agent) read the room and immediately bared her throat. Maybe he's just one of those "I can't help myself I have to speak up against the fascism of SJWs!" dingbats.

What a hill to die on.

What an idiot btw.

It’s almost incredible that’s what brings him down now- what a dumb thing to defend someone on. It’s almost like he wanted a vacation and a new job
