I got nothing
My Grandpa was in that unit. He refused to watch that show because he lived it.
Wow. I imagine he was pretty reluctant to talk much about it as well.

Which unit? Unlike Band of Brothers, The Pacific followed three different units during the Marines’ time in hell.
Netflix dropped a new season of Lupin. Had no idea it was coming
Turn-On, possibly the most famous cancellation in tv history, will have two of its episodes released on Monday on YouTube. Likely the fastest cancellation ever, it was canceled after 10 minutes on a Cleveland affiliate and the response on the east coast it was so bad it didn’t even air in some west coast markets. The show was officially canceled after an episode, though a second episode was already produced and a third episode had content filmed.
Based on the trailer it looks like a show that was six decades too early for the mainstream. Short, random clips is Gen Z’s calling card for humor and it probably would’ve had a home on Adult Swim since the 2000s. Seems to fit right in with Tim and Eric.

Tomorrow Netflix drops newest horror from Mike Flanagan- the fall of the house of usher. Has some of his usuals (Carla gugino, kate Siegel) and mark hamil this time around.
hill house was amazing and bly manor was very good. I’m pumped
Just wrapped up Ahsoka on Disney+.
I think it was a solid season. Nothing jaw dropping, but I was entertained throughout, although it did drag a bit. I enjoyed Thrawn and how the character was played. As a whole it was easy enough to follow despite not having seen any of Filoni's animated stuff. I'm sure there was some extra payoff I missed by not seeing this.
Kind of sucks that Rey Stevens passed =(
Wait, wait, wait. We're talking about the Hill House remake of a few years ago? That was complete dreck. Or were there two Hill House remakes?
edit: There were, and they both sucked. The 1999 movie was just loud and stupid, but the mini-series went further and took a steaming crap all over Shirley Jackson. God, it was maddening -- completely destroyed the integrity of the source material and should not have been entitled to the same name. I get the story -- I get how maybe audiences would like it. But it simply isn't the same story -- at all. It's as bad as the mini-series version of Foundation for just ripping off a title.
BTW, everyone within the sounds of my keys, if you have never seen the original drop everything. I am hesitant to suggest the book to a modern audience. It was written for a different type of reader. It is extremely slow, quiet, nuanced. It's beautiful, like poetry, and extremely affecting. But virtually nobody alive now will be patient enough for it. It's also not fun. My reaction to the central character was profound depression. But holy hell what beautiful prose.
Sometimes it's ok not to overthink it. This might be impossible for you to do now that it's over, but what do you think you would have thought of the series if you had no prior experience with the novel and the original film?
That's a fair criticism. I love the original so much that such a difference really stunned and disappointed me. But let me give another example: Dark Winds. The original books are excellent. I only found them because of the TV show. I watched the first season, then started reading the books (I am up around 9 or 10 now). I realized quickly that the TV was mixing plots and introducing characters.
I wasn't mad, but I was somewhat irritated just because none of the changes were necessary - the book plots themselves are actually far more conducive to a TV serial than the frankenhooker plotlines which the show with. All the more depressing since Tony Hillerman's daughter wrote the screenplays (this has indeed convinced me not to read her continuation of her father's books).
Then I started on S2, but this time I had the books in my mind, and now the divergences and the erosion of quality were FAR more striking. Gordon's criminal miscast as Chee actually does make me a little mad. I should say, though, McClarnon's Leaphorn is perfection -- seriously, I cannot imagine a more deal casting. (Gordon : McClarnon : Dark Winds :: Wright : Elwes :: Princess Bride).
So, you are right, the order matters.
Well James Kirchick can eat a bag of dicks.
That's what you get for watching Maher...what did he say this time?
