Kenobi off to a solid start.

As has come to be expected with Star Wars, things can get a bit tricky writing some of these stories because we have to fill in blank spots of a character's story and pretty significant differences in the characters between Point A and Point B. But I feel that Kenobi does a pretty good job filling this in with the character of Obi-Wan so far. Ewan MacGregor is putting in the work for sure. Also feel that Reva has the potential to be a formidable villain (I admit that I don't follow CLONE WARS or REBELS, so I have no idea if her character is developed in those stories). I also like how Leia is portrayed. I do not understand the hate this actress is getting. It shows the origin of her spunk, and also shows why she was so ho-hum about getting captured by Vader in Ep. IV.

Binged through the first half of S6 Better Call Saul. Makes me a little sad knowing we've only got six episodes of this universe left. ~120 hours and the amount of material I haven't liked could be measured in minutes.

Stranger Things new season pilot.

Spoilers: Trying to pivot from cuteness to teen dramcom. They're keeping their sense of humor and the absurd, though I don't love them kicking up the violence. I'm on board so far, I actually loved the D&D/hoops bit.

I had some major problems with the OWK episodes. The overall premise is fine. The execution of that premise is lazy. I don't want to go into detail in fear of giving stuff away.

My (possibly uneducated) concern (even I though I'm still a fan so far) is where OWK can possibly go? Where is the drama and suspense going to come from? If you've seen SW IV and its prequel is there anything at stake left in all of this? Ben is a shell of his former sense and we know what happens when he eventually faces Vadar. Is there anything potentially exiting about seeing either or both Leia and Luke in their pre-teen years?

I've watched 3 of 6 episodes so far of Pistol - a biographical series based upon the memoirs of Steve Jones who was one of the founding members of the Sex Pistols. Based upon what I know of the band's history much of what has been portrayed has been spot on. Some of the actors are dead ringers and I love the fact they're not using originally recorded music and singing for the musical bits.

I will give it a try.

The IRL Pistols are problematic. They were not cool. They, in particular McLaren, were at best a swindle, and most of the rooting for them can only be justified by the utter vacuous idiocy of the Thatcherite reaction against them -- the enemy of my enemy.

But there's a ton of material there to make a dramatic, absurdist story, without even having to exaggerate. And the music still can make me want to run through a wall of fascists.

There was nothing virtuous about them, but it's an interesting story and dare I say their music is actually a bit underrated.

I am sorry, I like the Pistols but saying their music is underrated is a stretch. They were all attitude, zero talent. Honestly in comparison to other bands of the time they are vastly overrated. I could maybe make the argument that Sid was worth the hype...but the rest were hacks with zero ability except the ability to spit in the face of stuff and destroy everything which is cool for maybe a minute.

(it doesnt help that the so called "Anti-Fascists" like Johnny Rotten ended up supporting fascists like Donald Trump)

Nobody said anything about musicianship. Music is more than that.
