Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

How can you be too networky to be on a network? :p

You know what I mean. The cheesy, cliched bits that networks trot out year after year because it's safe. Colbert got the job because he is considered "edgy" and "current." (And he is, mind you)

Ellen is too generic, aka "networky." Tina and Amy like to push the envelope, just like Colbert. But, they are "accepted," so to speak, in their line of work as leading talking heads/actresses/comediennes/whatever label you want to slap on them.

This all depends on if Colbert is going to be the Stephen Colbert from the Daily Show and Colbert Report.....or be the real Stephen Colbert.

And FTR, I think Amy Poehler and Tina Fey would have been great choices too. Chris Rock/Dave Chappelle would not have been. Their brand of humor is for cable, and they would probably have gotten bored with it in a couple years and left...

And given their sense of independence and their stated disdain for certain elements of fame, I wouldn't expect Rock or Chappelle to want or enjoy the job. All that said, they'd be GREAT at it.

Ink Master

Saw last week's ep and tonight's ep this evening.

Last week: I thought that was rather unprofessional of Nunez to single out Kyle. It was unneeded, and made to provoke Kyle, as he was not present.

This week: I thought Melissa should have been sent home. That was a terrible tattoo. Plus, that's twice now that she has not guided the canvass to a better/more complete tattoo. However, as a body of work, either choice would have been fine. As for the Kyle brush-up, while understandable, Kyle was SO in the wrong. The pressure just got to him. I definitely would not get inked by someone that volatile.

All in all, I think Halo is the favorite to win it. Even when he does a "bad" tattoo, it's still out of the park in my opinion.

My money's on Sausage right now. He's impressed me the most over the season and has been overlooked more than once during the elimination tattoo judging.

Sausage is my 2nd choice, for basically the same reasons. I'm a little disappointed that some of the weaker artists have lasted this long, though. Lydia for example...she's survived only by not being the worst, at least until tonight. Now Melissa has that honor. She's really cracking now in her work.

Melissa is definitely going next, then it's Jay. Actually, if Jay biffs it, then that order could be reversed. After that it's a toss up.

Agreed. I hate the in-house alliance stuff, but that is unfortunately part of the show.

Fargo is waiting on the DVR...really looking forward to it.

Watched the new Californication, it was meh. The twist was obvious, and the jokes were old. Glad this is the last season, but it probably should have been wrapped up last season.

Justified season finale was good. The way it ended makes me think that next season may be the last, which wpuld probably be the right time for it.

Agreed on both shows' runs.

Hoping Community comes back next year, but if not that was a great finale.

This year was way better than expected given that troy was only in four episodes. The guy who replaced Chevy Chase was highly entertaining.

Well, he did put up with Walter White's nonsense for a while so there was nothing new that the Greendale study group was going to throw at him...

I agree. Great season finale. Six seasons, here we come.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I laughed pretty hard at the end tag that basically just said that Community will replace whatever fails next fall.

My favorite was Abed's line at the end.

We'll be back next year. But if we're not, it's because civilization was wiped out by an asteroid. And that's canon.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I too enjoyed the Community finale and it would be a shame for it to not come back.

The Americans has been wonderful.

The Following will run its course if it doesn't wrap up this season.

Hannibal is still a favorite for me but ratings have been sad. :(

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Is anybody here watching Orphan Black on BBC America? I just finished season 1 last night, and I'm pretty much hooked. It's a fairly original twist on the ominous bad-guy-coming-to-get-us plot.
