Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

They did it this way because Netflix guaranteed them 26 episodes when they signed to do the show. They built it to reach this point because they had no clue if it would go beyond it.

The Blacklist: Man Red is in trouble! Oh and Batman's dad is a dick! :D

It's going to be fun to watch Red turn the tables on Alan Alda. The last two episodes should be epic. I wonder how if the Berlin thing is getting closed up what they set up for next season.

Ink Master:

Scott and Halo are really separating themselves. However, Scott is pretty much an *hole, and personality goes a ways in the business, IMO. Melissa got saved by Jay's suckiness in the past couple weeks. She has the potential, but I think experience (or lack thereof) is killing her now.

I know Scott's going to be the favorite, but his attitude is going to be his undoing. I'm still liking Sausage to win this thing, a sort of dark horse, if that's even possible at this point in the show.

You nailed it with Melissa. The work she put into that elephant is the only thing that made it look decent. I really liked the shading work, and the judges were absolutely right in that a leg popping up in front of the flower would have made that elephant look much more fluid. Seeing Jay go home was a good thing, after all, if you keep failing in a team environment and keep thinking that everyone else is the problem, then your finger better start pointing at a mirror or you're living in absolute denial.

Sausage is my 2nd, after Halo, at this point for the reason you stated: attitude.

And Jay almost had the chops, then he went beserker in ink and attitude, and the latter showed in his work. He actually regressed, IMO, as the show went on.

Yeah you can tell Alan Alda knows his alliance screwed him and Red will take it out on him the hardest! I wonder if Lizzy is gonna do something to screw over Red too before realizing she once again has no idea what she is doing and he is twelves steps beyond her trying to get her to catch up :)

Michael Pitt was really good on Hannibal last night. It looked pretty obvious that he was basing his performance off Gary Oldman's; in voice and intonation, you could really feel that this was the same person as Oldman portrayed, only younger.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Just watched the first episode of Fargo. The long setup (first 50 minutes) was quite worth it. It was tough to shake the characters from the movie though, definitely a lot of similarity. Loving the indirect dispicable-ness that Billy Bob Thornton causes.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Yup, Don is Don. However...the ending of tonight's ep...is he really gonna man up for the long run? Frankly, I think the intro sequence to the episodes tells the ending of the series (insert Captain Obvious): he's gonna jump.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

The WSJ had a piece about how much TV we actually watch. Not in terms of hours, but in terms of channels. A study shows that the average American now receives a whopping 189 channels but still (it's been this way since 2007) only 17 are regularly viewed. The full study isn't out yet, so the TV stations aren't known, but it seems a safe bet they are:
ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, ESPN(2), USA, TNT, TBS, FX, Comedy Central, AMC, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, HBO and Showtime. The last one could be SyFy, Discovery, MTV...

Will be interesting when the final numbers are released.

Disney has to be up there. Probably PBS too. Showtime is out.

Last question would be whether any of Discovery/SyFy/MTV would beat out HBO or FX.

USA has really dropped. Guess airing endless reruns of L&O and NCIS episodes cuts into your numbers...

I would have thought AMC would be higher. Comedy Central must be flat until 11PM, then a sharp spike for an hour then it craters again.

Speaking of Comedy Central, that reminds me: After Colbert leaves for CBS the 11:30 slot will be filled by host Larry Wilmore and his new show, The Minority Report.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Holy hell does Don Draper need to get his sh*t together. It used to be funny, back during Season 4, when he came home stumbling drunk every other episode. Now, it's actually depressing to watch his alcoholic behavior. Not even bothering with a glass anymore, just a big swig straight from the bottle, then the rest into a convenient Coke can.
