Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Watching Breaking Bad right now with Mrs. Jon and I don't get the Anna Gun hatred. Her husband is turning into Satan and even if you find Skyler's behavior annoying, it's a fictional character.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

True Detective was excellent. It was a slow burn, as expected, but it was creepy, and dark, and just very well done. Harrelson and McConaughey were very good also. Definitely going to keep watching, but I figured that would be the case going into it.

I DVR'd it to watch tonight, but caught a bit of it before heading to bed, and it looked great. Felt a lot like Hannibal, but with an even creepier vibe.

And McConaugheyheyhey must still have kept the weight off that he lost for Dallas Buyers Club, as he looked positively gaunt in the flashback scenes of his younger self. Something about that and the way he was pursing his mouth made him look almost like a completely different person. But the current him looked like Wooderson as he would be today. :D

He's really beginning to grow on me as an actor. I've always kind of liked him, mainly as he just seems like a likeable down to earth guy who doesn't let the stardom thing go to his head, but I'm appreciating him for his craft a lot more now.

Holy crap, just watched it. I want to see the next episode, RIGHT NOW!!!!!! Man, this is gonna be good.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

HBO and The Newsroom producers announced today that the upcoming third season will be the show's final season. Given how fast they were chewing through the timeline they set, that only makes sense. I'm disappointed by this. While there are obvious issues with the show, I still like it a lot. The acting is great, as are the character interactions.

I haven't seen the show, but to quote Timothy Olyphant from "The Girl Next Door:"

Kelly: Always leave 'em wanting more.

End it before it gets stale. See: Friends and How I Met Your Mother.

Yeah, I thought about that, too, but a season is only 12 episodes, but there's a lot of potential in covering the stupid things news agencies and those people in the news do.

True, but would you want to take a chance on ruining it? Even Mad Men is starting to stretch it, and I love that show. The saving grace is that (IIRC) there is only one more season left (allegedly).

Funny you say that because tonight HIMYM was awesome...especially the ending :D

Possible spoilers (True Detective):
After just the one episode my fiance and I were trying to figure out what was going on in the current timeline. I have to think that Rust is a suspect, given the fact that he is in an interogation room, while Hart is being interviewed in a pretty nice looking conference room. My fiance also had the theory that the files weren't actually destroyed during Hurricane Rita, and that they just told Rust that to see if all of the smallest details were still fresh in his mind. Since the new murder contained aspects that only those very close to the original murders....I think Rust is too smart to fall for that though, if he did do it.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

The Black List is back and as awesome as ever. Had kind of a mid season ending last night with a huge hint of what's to come. Spader has to be relishing every minute of this role.

Major Crimes two part season finale ended last night. Part 1 was better than Part 2, but I'd say this is a very underrated show.

Will it be called "12", then?

It had its moments but... eh.

Finally got around to watching the Justified premiere. Love Dave Foley as a Canadian gangster talking about Tim Horton's. Don't buy Michael Rapaport as a Southerner.

AMC has decided on a few premieres:
Game of Arms - Feb 25, 10PM
Turn - April 6, 9PM (90-minute debut)
Mad Men - April 13, 10PM

Better Call Saul - November!

That episode was awesome! Spader was just outstanding :)

And any episode of HIMYM about the Slap Bet is good...though I will admit Ted sucked in the episode, but that has been true for about 4 seasons now :P

From what I got, and some I read on IMDB's discussion boardsPretty much that, and you can tell, these guys think Rust is a suspect. He disappeard for 8 years, now he's back and the killings have started again. But if you notice, his interview is a couple days earlier than Martin's. And the two detectives are sorta laid back with Rust, just letting him tell the story, I guess hoping he'll say stuff that will hang himself, while with Martin, they seem more interrogative, more procedural. So while it seems that's where the story is going, although I think it's too predictable to have Rust be the killer, there may be something the detectives found in his story that made them want to bring Martin in later and ask him questions.

And it also seems pretty obvious that what drove the two of them apart was that Rust slept with his wife.

Haven't been this excited about a new show since Game of Thrones.

I think Rapaport is really underrated as an actor. I don't recall being disappointed in any role he's been in, tv or movie. Agreed on the Canadian scene. That was hilarious. I do kind of wish they'd get rid of Dewey, though. He's more annoying than entertaining/etc.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Um. Hmmm. Justified seems to be throwing a whole bunch of stuff at the wall, and seeing what sticks. I hope this all connects somehow. I still am enjoying the show, but it's a little scatterbrained right now.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

It's the second episode of the season, I'd hold off on things being slapdash until at least the halfway point. Even then, other than whatever is going on with Darryl Crowe (I'm guessing he steps into the weed business, and I don't mind Rappaport in the role at all), everything seems to be following a fairly natural arc.
