Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Kari Byron, Grant Imahara and Tory Belleci are leaving Mythbusters. Their contracts were not renewed. Adam and Jamie have two years left on their contracts and my guess is the show will then be canceled. The ratings have dropped significantly in recent years.

Turn out the lights, the party's over
They say that, 'All good things must end'

It's run its course. I'm guessing a lot of those final two seasons will be revisits of previously 'Busted' myths because Billy Bob Wackadoodle III from Mind-rot, North Dakota complained that they didn't do it in such and such a way. That, and compilation mini-Myth episodes of fan-submitted stuff.

Watching The Simpsons marathon. It's amazing how good the show used to be. Sadly I missed Homer at the Bat.

I'll probably end up only watching this until season 12 or so. I remember the quality started deteriorating soon after.

FXX has all 526 episodes available online to stream.

Also, yes, the quality did slip after a certain point, what that point is has gone through many debates. However, over the past two or three seasons, there's been a definite resugence in the quality; while they're not all brilliant in recent seasons, there have been a number of really good episodes, which cannot be said for a solid 10-year span.

They are advertising 552.

Also that footlocker ad with pippin and barkley was good the first few times. Now it's annoying.

Me no mathy? Okay, I got the total wrong. Once it got past 500, does the exact number really matter? They could cut out a few dozen from the last decade and nary a man, woman or child would be the wiser.

I thought you had some inside info. Like they were counting the Ullman shorts. :)

A buddy and I were talking about the Simpsons marathon and watching old episodes where we didn't get the jokes back then but do now. He showed me this and said, "I didn't get it back then, it took me a minute now, but it might be the funniest thing the Simpsons ever did."

I've never once known anything about that reference, just had to research it.

I had forgotten that the whole onion on the belt scene was in the dental plan episode (actual title is "Last Exit to Springfield.")

Where's my burrito? Where's my burrito? Where's my burrito? D'Oh!

It's gotten to the point where if my union goes on strike I'm gonna be on a picket line going "where's my burrito! Where's my burrito!..." :D

During our FFL drafts (we still hold them in-person) if someone is taking too long, we chant "Where's my burrito?!" until they pick.

On a JetBlue flight at the moment (free wireless!) and I'm going thru the channels and landed on CNBC. They were showing an infomercial of the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts. Probably showing my age here but I remember watching these on TV when I was a kid. This infomercial had me laughing out loud on the plane. If there are any YouTube clips out there, I encourage you all to check them out. Seriously funny stuff. I was tempted to buy the DVDs!

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I've been wondering, what do you guys consider the best single season?

I think I'm close to declaring season 8 as my favorite.

I was actually just thinking of this as I'm watching Season 6 right now.... I have to believer that is the winner... There really isn't a bad episode that entire season... And many of them are beyond awesome, IMO... Personal favorites are "Bart vs. Austrailia", "Itchy and Scratchy Land", "Treehouse of Horror - V", the "Stonecutter Episode", and "Who Shot Mr. Burns - Part 1"...

Pretty sure they're only on season 5 as the recent Halloween episode was V. Unless they didn't do one the first year?
