Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Season 8 has You Only Move Twice, Hurricane Neddy, Bart After Dark, The Mysterious Voyage of Homer, Mountain of Madness, Homer's Phobia, Homer's Enemy. I mean, 6 is also great but 8? Wowza.

Actually, 6-8 has to be one of the greatest stretches in TV history IMHO. Even 5 is **** good.

Edit: I was looking through them and seeing what episodes are some of the most memorable, S7 makes a fairly compelling case as well: WSMB2, Radioactive Man, Lisa the Vegetarian, King Size Homer, Two Bad Neighbors, Scenes from the Class Struggle in Springfield, Lisa the Iconoclast, Bart on the Road, The CUrse of the Flying Hellfish, Summer of 4 ft. 2.

Pretty sure they're only on season 5 as the recent Halloween episode was V. Unless they didn't do one the first year?

The first season was a January replacement season for some failed show or another. The first episode was the X-mas special, but that doesn't officially count as part of season 1, for some reason.

Holy balls. I never realized this but Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire was on my birthday (month and day).

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

On a JetBlue flight at the moment (free wireless!) and I'm going thru the channels and landed on CNBC. They were showing an infomercial of the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts. Probably showing my age here but I remember watching these on TV when I was a kid. This infomercial had me laughing out loud on the plane. If there are any YouTube clips out there, I encourage you all to check them out. Seriously funny stuff. I was tempted to buy the DVDs!
Those "roasts" on Comedy Central are no comparison.

Red Buttons' Never Got a Dinner routines were classic!

We interrupt this Simpsons marathon to announce the 12th Doctor is debuting on BBC America RIGHT NOW

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I don't think there's a wrong answer between Seasons 4-8 of the Simpsons. Personally, I'd take Season 6.

Best season of The Simpsons...great question...I'll have to think on it. 5 through 10 are all so good.

Simpson's marathon getting huge ratings, bigger complaints.

Fans of the series have noticed something off about the early seasons: they’re in the wrong aspect ratio. Instead of running the episodes in their original 4:3 standard definition format, frames have been cropped, zoomed in and stretched to fit 16:9, or the current format for HDTV, complete with heavy digital noise reduction to make it look cleaner (not always a good thing, and certainly not here). At its most benign, it looks slightly off.

Also, enjoy this marathon while it runs. Future episodes aired on FXX will be the shorter syndicated episodes where some jokes and sight gags were cut to allow more time for commercials.

Well boo... I was enjoying getting to seeing all the episodes in their uncut form....

That's ****ing terrible. I mean, the 16x9 thing I could get used to. But cutting up episodes? *thumbs down*

I believe that happens to many a show. USUALLY, they shorten the theme song, but I am darn sure I've seen shows where minor things in the eps have been cut.

Rich Little pretty much boiled down every Jimmy Stewart acting performance in 2 minutes (and much better than countless other impression attempts since):
