tUMD @ UND: Novermber 5-6, 2010

Re: tUMD @ UND: Novermber 5-6, 2010

A bit of a different lineup for UND this weekend.
Forbort (illness), MacWilliam (illness), Rowney (injury), and possibly Malone (suspension) are out this weekend.
Gleason, who is listed as F/D, will be back on defense to replace Mac.

What is the story on Malone? A self-imposed suspension, or is the league considering a suspension?

Not sure, nothing has been released yet about it, but I would guess that the WCHA is certainly considering a suspension.

I am also pessimistic with UMD's record at the Nazi Bunker. Just awful. It is one of those arenas we do not play well in.

Duluth can always hope to sweep the Sioux out of town at home, later this year, just like you guys did to those three black guys as depicted in your town's famous lynching postcards.

Isn't digging up the past fun?

we all know that the WCHA Wheel of Justice will be busted out for this...question is, what will it land on?

My guess: 1 or 2 games.
I would not be surprised with more, but the WCHA hasn't shown in the past that they are willing to hand out longer than that.

Not quite sure what an isolated incident that has nothing to do with the history of the University is really the same as Ralph Englestad who is much more relevant to North Dakota.

Isn't digging up the past accurately fun?

Re: tUMD @ UND: Novermber 5-6, 2010

Ralph being a Nazi is completely idiotic and untrue, so why should that be brought up? It is though. So why not bring up the lynching?

In the words of Phil my Sioux fan friend "HE WAS A COLLECTOR!"
Isn't digging up the past fun?

This reminds me when opposing fans would post pictures of dead Native Americans. Nice move.

Looks like my post did its job. Stirred up the pot a little bit!

Re: tUMD @ UND: Novermber 5-6, 2010

Man, I'm getting blamed for things I don't even do now! I think that means I'm a legend or some such thing.

Ouch....Dirty I am very sorry about this. I don't know why I thought you posted the Duluth post card thing. My mistake. I again apologize.

Re: tUMD @ UND: Novermber 5-6, 2010

That's BS. I'm not a Sioux fan and I hate this. The hit was possibly a charge, but not worthy of a suspension. It was the kind of hit that we all cheer in the stands, the kind of hit that revs up a team and changes the momentum, and the kind of hit that is taught at all levels of the game. Martin had his head down, something that will lead to injury more often than not. Even Martin called Malone to tell him that he didn't think the hit was dirty (one of the classiest moves I've ever heard of in sports). I wish those in positions of power would get off their high horse and stop acting like they don't earn their salary by promoting a physical sport where injuries, even serious ones, are inevitable.

Looking forward to this weekend's series; the Bulldogs will be able to test their skill against a team with much more skill and depth than they've seen to date and the Sioux will get a chance to prove they aren't slumping after a good start. I still think a split on the road at REA would be a good goal for the Bulldogs.
