I would love to commission a study to look at MRI and fMRI scans of a large sample of liberal brains and a large same of conservative brains.

If someone is motivated by fear, they likely have a different brain structure compared to the average brain. Where is the fear center? The amygdala?

I would also love to see the fMRI results when they are shown clips of fear-inducing political speeches.

True, but there there is not much room for dispute that fear has been used to motivate those on the right far more than those on the left. Those who attempt to win support from that base do not do it with a positive message on policy but with fear of mexicans who are criminals, muslims who are terrorists, gays who will destroy the institution of marriage, godless liberals who will remove christianity from our culture, even of a country that is about to fall apart at the seems unless we return to a past era that feels safe because it is known. Whether cons' vulnerability to the threat of fear relates to amygdala function, as suggested by a study cited some time ago by Kep (I think), is an interesting question but only that.

Just heard tonight that Trump owns stock in the company building the pipeline in North Dakota where all the protesting is going on. No conflict there.

I see Kepler must have beaten me to it as well.

Also, how in the hell did I retain that (the amygdala is the fear center)? Last time I did deep studies about the brain and brain anatomy was in 12th grade AP Psych.

C'mon. Only the right has an echo chamber. The left utilizes an enclosed space for producing reverberation of sound.

Trump has other financial interests in the pipeline. The Associated Press (AP) said that Trump’s most recent federal disclosure forms, filed in May, show he owned between $15,000 and $50,000 in stock in Energy Transfer Partners – down from between $500,000 and $1 million a year earlier.

$50k in ETP? Up until November 1st I had greater stock interest in MSFT.

I'd rather see more about what's he going to do with the assets he directly controls (his hotels, golf courses, real estate, etc).

I have a hard time reading Twitter anyways...but his tweets make Millenials sound like William *** Shakespeare.
