Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

Are you being intentionally dense?

Edit: just to answer you before you ask, Clinton didn't want a recount. However, now that one is taking place, it is absolutely prudent for her lawyers to get involved to ensure they are represented. Just as it would be prudent for Trump to have his lawyers involved. This isn't complicated.

This should scare everyone. A US president alleging millions of voters casting illegal ballots. After he's already won.

It should scare everyone, but we've already established how little most people care about minority voting rights. It's much more important that we bankrupt idiots that are dumb enough to require cancer treatment because that might save us a few dollars.

I'll bet money that when Trump leaves the WH, his successor finds gum stuck under the desk in the Oval Office.

He'd have to show up first, and why do that when the taxpayers are paying him for the Secret Service to rent out an entire floor of Trump Tower?

GOP Rep. Collins: Romney is 'a self-serving egomaniac'

I didn't realize that 'Romney' was a third accepted spelling of Trump (besides Drumpf).

This line is great:
...Collins said on CNN’s “New Day” Monday morning. “I mean, there's no love lost between me and Mitt Romney. I've called him a loser for the last six months, even though I supported him.

Another gem:
“I’m all for party unity, but I’m not sure that we have to pay for that with the secretary of state position,” Conway said on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday. “We don’t even know if Mitt Romney voted for Donald Trump.”

It must be a huge vein of gems:
My concern is that Mitt Romney is a bit of a lone wolf and might not take the advice or the direction of President-elect Trump. I mean, he is a lone wolf. So, from that perspective, would I choose him? No,” Collins said. “But if President-elect Trump does, I will certainly support that decision. It's up to the president-elect to surround himself with the people that he thinks can best serve his administration. But I have not seen in Mitt Romney the personality traits of someone who will take direction.”

Advice is a two-way street, Congressman.

Why is Stein pushing for recounts? To show that her supporters took away enough from the Ds to allow Trump to win?
And now Clinton is jumping in as well? I thought she gave a concession speech and said she'd accept the results.

This answer makes as much sense as any.

I agree that Clinton joining in this thing is beyond stupid and the optics are horrible. You know what's worse? Oh, and Stein is doing it because she doesn't want to be remembered as a Nader. Well, she is a ****ing Nader.

In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally

She had no choice. Lets say the recount does find undercounted votes. Not enough to overturn the overall results mind you, but its going to look like Jill Stein cares more about integrity in the vote count than the Dems do. Talk about bad optics.

I could see where it could be the classic no win.

Scooby, as I said above, it's not stupid and the optics are only horrible if you don't use your brain. If there is a recount, it would be absolutely insane to not have your lawyers involved from the start.

Furthermore, Stein won't be remembered as a Nader by anyone who looks at the numbers. Even if 100% of Stein voters went for Hillary, she may have picked up Michigan and Wisconsin, but Pennsylvania still would have lost her the election.

Anyone who says the third parties lost this election for Hillary will be on the wrong side of history. Clinton had 1.3 million fewer votes than Obama. That is what lost the election. Lack of enthusiasm and support for the Democratic candidate.

I didn't say Clinton wanted a recount. I said she's "jumping in" meaning she's involved now. And even you say she should be now that it's started. So why attack me for that?

And I said that it's pretty obvious why she's jumping in and explained it.

Your first mistake is thinking the American Stinker is a serious piece of journalism.

Shoot the messenger (American Thinker) all you'd like, but at least they are trying to decipher motives and possible outcomes from a recount.

Truth.
Her voters didn't show up and it's all about ...

By making some completely asinine conclusion that she's trying to defraud the electorate or not accept the results.

The real reason, if you're not a mindless Trump surrogate, is that she's getting in because she wants to ensure that if there is some impropriety uncovered, then they want to get out ahead of it. Plus what Rover said. That's an important point as well.

Please. They are promoting conspiracy theories that the Dems are doing this to force a vote in the House and Senate which is a joke. (and makes no sense whatsoever) It would not make things any more "illegitimate"

The Green Party is doing it because of Jill Stein's Ego. The Dems arent funding it or pushing for it, but they would be stupid not to pay attention to it. Nothing is going to change anyways.

If you are trying to be Flaggy...please dont.

As I think Rover alluded to...this is an integrity step. I believe the entire apparatus of WI is GOP and the state went GOP by a few thousand votes. In the past, voting machine representatives have said they favor the GOP to the point of potentially adjusting results. We are also in the age of hacking. Why in the world wouldn't we check the results and for states voting on both sides? And even if its legit, it shows that results are heavily scrutinized - rather than as Trump would say 'do a quick count and turn the other way' which would encourage foul play.

Clinton is done. There's no reason for her to be concerned about her reputation. I'm sure she would be interested in it for her legacy. So why not?

And their "deciphering" is such garbage that I think my one month old could provide better reasoning.
