Re: TRP: I'm Taking My Talents To Hartford: Remember The Whale!

I remember being blown away when I was able to get a mint hydrox blizzard. Still what I usually get if I happen to get one nowadays, which is very rare.

Re: TRP: I'm Taking My Talents To Hartford: Remember The Whale!

I remember one day when we had the "mint hydrox" and the "oreo" blizzards still called separate names (despite them both using oreos). I was reading back the order to some stupid, stupid woman and said "mint hydrox".

She responded with, "Oh, no. I don't want generic hydrox. Only oreos."

*sigh*

Cookie Dough was not an original. I remember it was added with Rocky Road and one other type, and the commericals aired almost nonstop.

The blizzard didn't come into its own until they came out with banana creme pie. mmmm, delicious banana creme pie.

Could Brent and his check writing ways actually be the next "new" revolution?

No, these people are a bunch of dicks. Especially that lawyer guy from William Mitchell College . No cell phone and no answering machine? So a person has to call you a million times in order to get ahold of you? Screw you, you self-important cock. I'll laugh when this guy's wife is in an accident and no one can get ahold of him because he thinks he's too important to make himself available. I'd call this guy at 3 AM just to wake him up. What a jerk. And he doesn't allow laptops in his classroom? F^ck that too. If I'm paying to go to this school, I'll d^mn well bring whatever the hell educational tools I d^mn well please into the classroom.

OK, so, today's XKCD. Can anyone explain that to me?

Re: TRP: I'm Taking My Talents To Hartford: Remember The Whale!

Unless you're some kind of on-call employee who's required to keep their phone on, who the hell is interrupting sex to take a phone call that, in all likelihood, isn't urgent or important?

I have.:o But it might have been the kids calling, which is kind of like being an on call employee. (this is before we had caller ID)

tCBG, don't read the previous post. :D

It's amazing that 25 years ago, few had cell phones. Now, you're an outcast if you don't have one. What could be so urgent that you have to be available 24/7? Very few things. We dealt with it before for hundreds of years, why not now?

Cell Phones are not for incoming calls.

This isn't logically sound, though. We dealt with that for hundreds of years because it wasn't technologically feasible. We dealt with not being able to travel across the ocean in six hours for hundreds of years too, but that doesn't mean we should go back to sea travel.

You're arguing with someone who writes checks. There can be no winners.

Well, that's a little different.

Without cell phones, people just aren't available all the time. There are other ways of communication (and we're not talking the Pony Express).

Are cell phones more convenient than not? Yes. Could we live without them and maintain a decent communications world? Yes.

Giving up a cell phone is not like going back to the stone age. ;)

Perhaps not, but that professor guy is still a cockgoblin. I can't wait for his wife to die. It will be the highlight of the year for me.

People who need a savage beating?

Phone rings during sex, ignore the ****er.

Unless the house is burning down or Fred Phelps shows up a machete, you keep going.

Re: TRP: I'm Taking My Talents To Hartford: Remember The Whale!

I think that might be the first time I've ever read the word "cockgoblin" on this board. Well done.
