Re: TRP: I'm Taking My Talents To Hartford: Remember The Whale!

It's better than going to the Michigan State Fair. That's like finding out that you're so broke, you can't even afford to go to a AA game, so you stay home all afternoon and drink the case of Natty Light you bought with your unemployment check. :D

How crappy is Michigan's unemployment? I was buying awesome beer with Minnesota unemployment. Mind you that 8 months of my unemployment, I was living in Wisconsin and I was still able to afford the State Fair.

The Wonders loved the Wisconsin state fair. Well, Lenny did anyway.

Re: TRP: I'm Taking My Talents To Hartford: Remember The Whale!

Going to the wisconsin state fair is like going to a class double-A baseball game.

aside from the Texas State Fair, the Minnesota State Fair is the best in the country, hands down. My parents have been to about a dozen of them, and they said none even come close to the MN State Fair. Of course, they've been going to Minnesota since the 70's. :D

I've heard from people that travel to show cattle to many of them that its basically between Minnesota and Texas for the best. The rest are pretty crappy.

listen here you balding sexless f*kface. Bakunin said ask you. So I did. You have a problem with this? Take it up with him. Shouldn't you be taking part in a redneck Wisconsin s*tfest?
Do you always let Bakunin lead you around by your dick or was today a special occasion?

The MSF is amazing. Not that I have a lot to compare it to but why go anywhere else?

Re: TRP: I'm Taking My Talents To Hartford: Remember The Whale!

I said to ask Brent because he's old and should remember how many flavors there were when they started selling blizzards 25 yrs ago.

Oh, so NOW you think I know something? JFC, you're a bigger idiot than Bro Gin.

WI sucks. I mean, I knew that before, I just want to reiterate it.

Had a nice meal, though. When I dropped the groom off at his fiancee's family's, her family insisted I stay for dinner, and we had bacon-wrapped tenderloins on the grill, with some green beans, and bread with olive oil/seasoning. And of course, they were insisting all night that I have "just one more beer." Too bad I had to drive back to the hotel (and no, I didn't get lost ).

It's not like it's knowledge that requires higher level thinking skills - it's just something you might remember from when you were ~10 years old other than the uncle molestation.

I'm pretty sure you had about eight flavors - Peanut Butter Cup, Butterfingers, M&M's, Oreo (may have been using Hydrox cookies back then instead), and then an equal number of the non-candy ones that didn't interest me as an eight-year-old child.

They were hydrox cookies initially.

I don't remember peanut butter cup being an original (I thought Heath bars were). Don't remember the non-candy options at all. Sloe vag thinks they offered ~20 flavors initially, while I think it was more like a handful. Brent's older than we are, so I figured he might know - instead he grew a giant vagina and criticized me for thinking he might know this. :p

Were Nerds original too? I remember that being my favorite style of Blizzard, even though in retrospect, Nerds and ice cream were better kept separate. :o

I thought cookie dough was in there, too, but I dunno. I rarely order(ed) a Blizzard.

I definitely don't remember that as an original flavor - the cookie dough craze was definitely '90s... and checking the web, I've confirmed that Ben and Jerry's didn't release it 'til '91 (came up with it in '86).

Re: TRP: I'm Taking My Talents To Hartford: Remember The Whale!

FOr the record, I worked at DQ for ~6.5 years.

PB Cups came well after reese's pieces.

Nerds was early but likely not original.

If you go back, waaaaaay back, I believe the original blizzards only had the basics (chocolate, vanilla, etc.) and fruit was later added. I'm guessing after that candy was mixed in.
