The summer I was going to turn lawn care over to mini-legal, he managed to break his arm. I was amazed at the extreme lengths he would go to get out of mowing.

Me too. This year it's starting to look like it might actually be less work for me than doing it myself. Last year it was clearly more work to have him do it.

ETA: Legal, my son mowed the lawn to be able to buy the Wii that we wouldn't give him. He had to earn twice the price since he's also required to bank half. He's after a soccer jersey right now, then probably a new hockey stick.

I hated mowing the lawn. We had really nice, thick, healthy grass that managed to regrow every five days, particularly in May and June when the temps were moderate and it rained regularly. In addition, my parents had planted awkwardly-shaped gardens that I had to push around.

I'm telling you, it was slave labor - should've been illegal.

Drove the tractor into the shed, literally, which successfully ended my stint doing any sort of mowing. (It was an accident, I actually liked driving the tractor)

I started mowing my grandpa's lawn when I was about 7, I kept hitting trees with the mower, so my grandpa welded a huge bumper that he made out of huge chunks of angle iron to the front. The thing covered the entire front of the lawnmower. Then he told me to go out and mow the lawn again.
