The first roller is just chosen, then s/he rolls until s/he loses. Then it goes to the person to his/her left, IIRC. Continue. And you can pass on your turn, and give the dice to the next gambler.

Ok, Twitch is the first roller. He rolls, eventually "craps" out (loses) and the roll goes to me, since I am next to him. I don't *ing roll (especially on Shabbas ;) ) so I pass the dice to you, since you're next to me. You roll until you lose.

It just intimindautes me because there's always so manyh people at the table and I fear I would get yelled at for not keeping up or something since I don't understand it. I may need to try it though the next time I'm at a casino.

I was drunk and the dice left the table. On my first roll ever. I don't think you can get more embarassed than that. :o

Also why I don't roll anymore. I always pass.

last time I was in Vegas playing craps, some dude threw the dice off the table 4 times in a row. I thought he was going to get his legs broken. :eek:

Here's some of the unofficial rules as well:

- don't place a bet as the shooter is throwing the dice
- don't hit chips on the other end of the table with the dice
- if one of your die goes off the table, keep it. Never change it out
- never mention the number 7 at the table
- do NOT play the game drunk. Blackjack, slots, those are fine. Craps, you need focus
- tip the stickman
- don't blow on the dice, knock on them, etc. Just throw

Hoven, any I'm missing?

When you win on hitting boxcars, double your bet. ;)

(yes, that happened to Temp. Yes, he won again)

All this talk to gambling makes me want to go to Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee, or drive to Northern Lights Casino in Walker. Milwaukee is closer so I will go there. :o

Just bet the "pass" line. If you feel like being an a-hole, bet "don't pass" (you're betting on the shooter to brick in that case).

FIRST ROLL:
7 or 11 = win
2, 3, or 12 = loss
Anything else = becomes the magic number, go to overtime

OVERTIME:
Magic number = win
7 = loss
Anything else = worthless

TWITCH BOY'S COMPLETELY BASELESS SAMPLE GAME OF CRAPS:

Twitch Boy, MNS, Brent, Sloe Gin, and Scarlet are all at a table together. Twitch Boy is to the far right, so he'll start the first game. Everyone bets $20 on the pass line.

Twitch Boy rolls a 7. Instant win! Everyone wins on their $20 pass line bet.

Since Twitch won, he gets to start another game. Everyone bets $20 on the pass line again.

Twitch Boy rolls an 8. We're going to overtime, and 8 is his magic number. Nobody has won or lost yet, everyone's bet is still in play.

Twitch Boy rolls a 9. Worthless.

Twitch Boy rolls a 3. Worthless.

Twitch Boy rolls a 7. He loses, so everyone loses on their $20 bet. Twitch now must pass the dice on to MNS.

MNS gets to begin a new game, everyone bets $20 again.

In typical MNS fashion, he bricks and rolls a 3. Instant loss. Everyone loses their bet, and MNS passes the dice on to Brent. Everyone bets again.

Brent chooses not to roll, and passes the dice to Sloe Gin.

Sloe Gin rolls a 4. We go to overtime - Sloe Gin is looking for a 4.

Sloe Gin rolls an 11. Worthless.

Sloe Gin rolls a 2. Worthless.

Sloe Gin rolls a 4. He wins, everyone wins their bet.

Sloe Gin gets to begin a new game, everyone bets again.

And so on...

For those of us who like to build things (or at least pretend we do so we can act like manly men):

TOOLS

DRILL PRESS: A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and Flings your beer across the room, denting the freshly-painted project which you had carefully set in the corner where nothing could get to it.

WIRE WHEEL: Cleans paint off bolts and then throws them somewhere under the workbench with the speed of light. Also removes fingerprints and hard-earned calluses from fingers in about the time it takes you to say, 'Oh sh -- '

ELECTRIC or PNEUMATIC HAND DRILL: Normally used for spinning pop rivets in their holes until you die of old age.

SKILL SAW: A portable cutting tool used to make studs too short..

PLIERS: Used to round off bolt heads. Sometimes used in the creation of blood-blisters.

BELT SANDER: An electric sanding tool commonly used to convert minor touch-up jobs into major refinishing jobs. HACKSAW: One of a family of cutting tools built on the Ouija board principle. It transforms human energy into a crooked, unpredictable motion, and the more you attempt to influence its course, the more dismal your future becomes.

VISE-GRIPS: Generally used after pliers to completely round off bolt heads. If nothing else is available, they can also be used to transfer Intense welding heat to the palm of your hand.

OXYACETYLENE TORCH: Used almost entirely for lighting various flammable objects in your shop on fire. Also handy for igniting the grease inside the wheel hub out of which you want to remove a bearing race. TABLE SAW: A large stationary power tool commonly used to launch wood projectiles for testing wall integrity.

HYDRAULIC FLOOR JACK: Used for lowering an automobile to the ground after you have installed your new brake shoes, trapping the jack handle firmly under the bumper.

BAND SAW: A large stationary power saw primarily used by most shops to cut good aluminum sheet into smaller pieces that more easily fit into the trash can after you cut on the inside of the line instead of the Outside edge.

TWO-TON ENGINE HOIST: A tool for testing the maximum tensile strength of everything you forgot to disconnect.

PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER: Normally used to stab the vacuum seals under lids or for opening old-style paper-and-tin oil cans and splashing oil on your shirt; but can also be used, as the name implies, to strip out Phillips screw heads.

STRAIGHT SCREWDRIVER: A tool for opening paint cans. Sometimes used to convert common slotted screws into non-removable screws and butchering your palms.

PRY BAR: A tool used to crumple the metal surrounding that clip or bracket you needed to remove in order to replace a 50 cent part.

HOSE CUTTER: A tool used to make hoses too short.

HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.

UTILITY KNIFE: Used to open and slice through the contents of cardboard cartons delivered to your front door; works particularly well on contents such as seats, vinyl records, liquids in plastic bottles, collector magazines, refund checks, and rubber or plastic parts. Especially useful for slicing work clothes, but only while in use.

DAMM-IT TOOL: Any handy tool that you grab and throw across the garage while yelling 'DAMM-IT' at the top of your lungs. It is also, most often, the next tool that you will need.

that would be me sprinting across the park to tackle people, not fumbling in my flip flops. Besides, I don't know where my flip flops ended up that weekend, anyway.
