Re: TRP: Betty Humpter

How is blackjack tough? :p That's where I made my money.

Blackjack is the only casino game I play. The odds are slightly in your favor, the rules are simple, and the thinking/strategy is endless. It's the game you are most likely to break even at, which is equivalent to winning, as far as I'm concerned. :p

I rarely lose at that, but the last time I seriously played, it was to fund my craps "lessons." :o

Of course, blackjack also paid for me and 3 buddies to hit Vegas, and then some, over the years. And paid for a night in Grand Forks, thanks to the bars having the game.:)

I really should get back to playing. I love it so.

If you bet on the banker in baccarat, the house edge is very slightly in YOUR favor. (They charge a commission on any money won on the banker, though.)

Of course, if you're playing baccarat in the first place you're probably filthy rich to begin with and you don't care.

And here is everything you need to know to kick *** in Las Vegas.

Re: TRP: Betty Humpter

Blackjack rules. Just didn't have the guts to do it for some reason. I am regretting it now, seeming you have the best chance of winning (or not losing a ton, to be more accurate) if you follow a few simple rules compared to the other games.

I also wish I had known that the El Cortez still has real single-deck blackjack, not the 6:5 crap.

Re: TRP: Betty Humpter

I love blackjack.
Just wish I had some disposable income so I could play.
Maybe someday...

(254): I made $300 today by selling pizza @ $4 a slice to nerds who refuse to leave the library. God I love finals time

negative. Blackjack is a very favorable game, but your odds are about 48%. In craps, if you play your odds, you can reduce the house edge to .1 percent.

But if you don't know how to play craps, you'll lose your *s. Ask Brent.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out craps. I've watched. I've watched a lesson at a casino. I've watched videos. I just dont' get it. Too much going on. Wish I could grasp it as I think I've outplaye d my time at the roullette table. I need a new game. I wanna go back to Vegas/

This it truth. I'd literally win $100 at blackjack, then go to the craps table, and lose it. Repeat every hour or so.

My buddy Temp knows craps. He *ing KNOWS it. Whenever he plays, he literally has $200-300 on the table on ANY given roll. And that *er wins at it. Sure, there are some swings, but I've seen him roll for 20 minutes, I've seen him win about $2K in 15 minutes (and also lose that much in that time), I've seen it all happen with this guy.

And overall, he's won so much on craps it's sick.

I can teach you. Your best bet is to just play it. stick to the pass line and the numbers. And odds. Always take your odds.

And the boxmen will help you, since if you win, you are more likely to tip them (or play longer and eventually lose your money to the casino). ;)

The only bet you really need to worry about in craps is called the "pass" line. Most of the other bets are sucker bets - stuff like "will he roll double fives" or "will he roll a 6." Bet 'em for fun if you like, but the pass line is the bread and butter of the game.

When you bet on "pass" you're betting on the shooter to win the game. Here's how that's done.

To start, the shooter rolls the dice for the first time. We'll call this Round 1. If he rolls:

7 or 11 - he automatically wins. New game.
2, 3, or 12 - he automatically loses. New game.
Anything else - remember it. This is his "magic number" (the official term is "point.") Go to Round 2.

If he goes to Round 2, the rules change a bit. If he rolls:

His "magic number" - he wins. New game.
7 - he loses. New game.
Anything else - doesn't count. Keep rolling.

That's really all you need to know to get into craps. Like I said, most of the really complicated stuff is a sucker bet anyway.

But how do I win??? Nothing you posted tells me what I get out of it.
