Trouble at Boston Marathon?

Re: Trouble at Boston Marathon?

I don't think he said or implied anything of the sort. Just that people were cheering because it may be over. To each his own, I guess. Would be...novel... to hear the news say "people are cheering cuz that mother effer is dead!"

Did you actually hear what he said? He very clearly indicated that cheering if Hardword 2 was dead would somehow be inappropriate. I can come pretty close to a direct quote: "not that they would be cheering a death." And what would be wrong if they were cheering for the death of this Jihadist beast?

amazing how stupid people get to read the news....

Generally, you don't get into much trouble reading the news. The problem comes with vast stretches of time that have to be filled, generally adlibidum. You wind up saying silly things.

I heard what he said just didn't interpret it the way you did. He didn't' t say it would be inappropriate, just put out an alternative. Like I said...to each his own. I just didn't take offense the way you did. :) no biggie.

You're right, it's no biggie. But you're giving an idiot an undeserved benefit of the doubt. He was talking about citizens putting up a cheer and very specifically said that the sentiment would "not be cheering a death." I'm not clear on how you can interpret that any other way. Like you say, no biggie. It's not "taking offense" to point out media stupidity. Any more than it's "taking offense" to disagree with me.

Ok, he didn't really say "wicked" but thought it was a nice touch. :)
