Trouble at Boston Marathon?

Re: Trouble at Boston Marathon?

Lester Holt (paraphrasing): "These people have been up all night. Hiding in their homes. And if the suspect is dead you would expect some cheering not because of the loss of life but because of all the stress they'd been under. Yeah, it would surely be vulgar to cheer the death of a guy who blew apart the body of an 8-year old boy. Another clod.

Just so long as nobody steps on their Johnson and cheers for the wrong reason. Reluctantly agree. But the idea that cheering if this remorseless killer is dead violates good taste is the kind of stupid sh*t we've been hearing all week.

Pete Williams has now defined "flash bangs" twice as "making a bright flash and a loud noise." He should go slower so we can take notes.

What channels/networks are you guys watching? I'm watching the local NBC affiliate but from what you guys are posting, they are not picking up this feed.

Watching CNN, getting news from other posters on here and GPL and Tweeter.

I'm surfing. Lester Holt and Pete Williams, of course, are NBC.

I don't think he said or implied anything of the sort. Just that people were cheering because it may be over. To each his own, I guess. Would be...novel... to hear the news say "people are cheering cuz that mother effer is dead!"

I'm watching the WCVB online feed. My friend who's a producer there has been up 30 of a possible 32 hours.

Re: Trouble at Boston Marathon?

Four days after the bombing and one of 'em is for sure death. And the other has been run to ground and may or may not survive. No "chatter" No previous record of jihadist activity. Not on the radar. Yet the perpetrators of that obscenity have paid the price. Pretty impressive work by law enforcement, you ask me. More work to be done, of course. But we got the guys who did it.
