Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

no, im just stunned at the level of damage, and the lack of attention outside of EU media, I guess. it was BAD

and you had the fucking brits who live there whinging about how "this isn't the weather they left the UK for" STFU no one wants you in Spain either
Ouch. And this is the first I'm hearing about it, too. The orange menace is taking up too much air space. And the lack of holding him to account for all of the badness makes it worse.

My heart goes out to Spain- loved visiting there. And want to go back and do more family research for Mrs MV.

it's heartbreaking. You already had mass causualties last month with the horriffic train crash, and now the same region is pounded with unprecedented rain and flooding. Just one hit after another. I was so lucky to get out in between storms a few days ago

It is rather surprising that not even our RW irritainment outlets took the opportunity to score easy "Socialist EU's disaster recovery efforts in disarray!11!!" points.

Well, we’re taking our first roadtrip with kiddo tomorrow. Heading to the UP.

It feels like we’re packing for a goddamn apocalypse.

After 6 years…it gets marginally better. The considerations change and moms really like to be prepared for everything. Ev. Er. Yee. Thing.

Breaking my hub captivity to cheat on Delta and fly United today. They are the only airline that flies directly into Mammoth, where I am meeting my dad for a ski trip.

So far, it's Friendly Skies. There's some weather rolling into the Sierras which could make the DEN-BIH leg interesting.

Currently prepping for a week in costa rica. We leave in about a month.

I won’t lie, it looks like most of the wildlife there is meant to kill humans. This should be terrifyingly fun.

Flying over Canyonlands on the way back to Denver. How soon can I get back to southern Utah (2015 was my last trip)? Wow.

Most insane snow event I've ever been caught in on a ski trip. I think the official final total at the peak of Mammoth was 80" in 3 days. There was a 3 foot drift on the deck of our rental condo. Unfortunately, the wind and viz plus need for avalanche mitigation kept more than half the mountain from opening including the entire summit of legendary high alpine bowl skiing. The LA weekend crowd will get to poach all of that. Just means I have to go back someday, but maybe I'll do it in April or May when it's a sunny 50 degrees and there's a 100" base of classic Sierra cement.

Good luck traveling with TSA suspending Precheck and global entry, Too bad voters won't remember this kind of crap.

Dhs is blaming d’s for the shutdown, even though r has control of all branches of government. People are so stupid.
My dad (not MAGA per se however he'll defend literally anything Republicans say, no matter how ridiculous) dug in on that during the last shutdown.

When I reminded him that his party held the white house and both houses of congress and didn't need a single D vote, he hid behind the filibuster. When I reminded him that there is no law guaranteeing a filibuster; it's just a chamber rule invented after the civil war, he defended it but dug in even harder on "it's the democrats fault".

There's no logic involved.

let me guess, he's also not too bothered with the deficit at the moment, but was raging mad about it a few years ago!
