Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

Re: Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

Had to cancel a trip to St Croix today. Waited an hour on hold for the Jet Blue lady to answer. She was kind, helpful, pleasant and patient. I thanked her. I can't imagine dealing with the volume they must be doing.

I've been sounding the alarm on TPG for over two years. Pump, pump, pump those credit cards, bro. Hope it was worth it.

Re: Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

There should be crickets in here- not sure any travel across borders is happening?

Re: Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

Maybe we should rename tis thread the which border is open?

And which countries will let US citizens in?

Mookie’s miles on aa are safe!!! (Inshalla)

Yea for the bailout ;)

Re: Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

This might be the greatest travelogue I've ever read. I kind of want to go.

Tangier was in the (excellent) Robert MacNeil show The Story of English. They sound like a cross between Appalachia and the Windsor Court. Really strange.

Airline cancelled my flight to London at the end of this month (I wasn't going to go anyway, but they saved me the work of cancelling it myself). That was my second vacation canceled due to the pandemic. My next vacation is on no matter what: going on a week long canoe trip along the Allagash Wilderness Waterway in northern Maine in July. Paddling 80+ miles of the water way and will be completely isolated with no cell phone reception for a week. Who knows what kind of world I will come back to! Maybe some crazy **** will go down like Trump resigning while I'm off the grid!

From your lips to God's ears.

Since this started I have had to cancel or have had cancelled a 10 day trip to St Croix to see my friend who lives there, a trip to Williamsburg, another to VA for a wedding, a trip to Idaho for a 25th wedding anniv celebration, a trip to Amsterdam for a week. And also all the othertrips I make almost every weekend doing photography for XC, T&F- that would have been trips to VT (overnight), NH, CT, RI, and western MA. This was going to be one of the most expensive travel years since we got married. Instead we are in the black by thousands. We budgeted for all that and poof.

(Good thing because I will not be shocked if I end up jobless this coming Semester. :( )
