Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

Guess who booked a hotel for thursday through Sunday and forgot to get Wednesday night

thankfully they had room but they could have been really really fucking bad

Have to be a bunch of availablity. Prices fell from when mookie first booked. Interested to see just how empty the barn will be.
 
Prices were horrendous from MN if you tried to buy in the last few weeks. Sucked. I really wanted to go but wasn’t paying over 1k for a flight or doing a crazy route. Going to Tampa late was very affordable when it was there.
but, I’ve spent so much time in Boston, it’s not like I needed to spend any time there I guess
 
Yeah they were offering $600+ To fly four hours laywr because they oversold. My wife and I agreed that $1k per was our price after they announced $500.
 
So my friend's bachelor party is happening at the Encore Boston hotel/casino. I know it's expensive but I figured I'd get a room right there that night. When I first looked even the cheap rooms are $400-450. I then had a work meeting, and came back and refreshed and they're $650.

Well, I guess I won't be staying there.
 
My dad is a Michigan grad and his friend offered him a FF ticket. He took one look at the flight and hotel costs and had to decline. He and my mom have too much money sunk into other trips right now.

and now they're over $700. I wonder if I make no plans, and then when I get there see if they have day-of discounts?

That is something hotels have phased out as time goes on...

They have shown that it's more valuable to give a room a value of $500 and have it sit vacant than to sell that room for $100 at the last second...

To the person who got that room at $100, they now know that the value is $100. So now they will balk at paying $500, even when the room is in demand... It's very hard to make someone pay more for something once they have gotten a lower price for the same product.

Have a friend or family member with a device you've never been associated with look it up. They might still get the original price.

Travel sites have gotten very good at using tracking tools to see when you look the same thing up multiple times and can raise prices accordingly.

I'm doing this for the team! Need more non-crazy voters to help down there!

We won't actually be in Orlando. Probably south of it by 30+ minutes. Being less than 2 hours from both coasts is pretty nice.
