Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

Thank you!

In terms of some of our old debates here on which airports are best to transfer thru, etc- to get to Geneva I could transfer in either cdg or ams. I have a strong preference, but I had my cousin poll the delta command center in atl last night. 100% of the ops employees agreed - always book ams if those are the choices
CDG is the worst airport I have ever been in. AMS has some issues but CDG is a POS.

It would be better to fly to Moscow to transfer there than go through CDG

Seeing if we can go a day early.... But our flight isn't on the canceled list, yet, so options are very limited.

Right now it’s a 4 hour strike (literally texting them now)

Cdg has one for the 18th too

Taking 20+ minutes to taxi in at ORD; the faint smell of stale urine on the Blue Line; asshole FIB drivers honking at each other as they pull out right in front of each other and cut each other off; bars just getting started at 11pm on a Wednesday night.

I missed this town, and yet I am almost 40 and exhausted. Had an Italian beef and a Polish delivered to my hotel and I am ready to sleep.

We are in very rural Finland right now. Looks exactly like the UP and Minnesota. And we know mosquitos are a big thing just like home- but it’s curious how few screens are in the home we are renting.

We are very close to where I got my last name from, although the farm was split up and renamed just over 120 years ago.

Tried some new food that would grow well in the upper mid west.

Sea Buckthorn. Small orange berry- kind of a cross in taste of passion fruit and a strong orange. It’s health food here in Finland. And not to be confused with common buckthorn.

Wine made from birch sap. Mixed with other northern berries- of all sorts. Surprisingly good. U of Mn and MSU really need to visit the winery in Alajärvi to get ideas for new foods for Minnesota and Michigan.
