Transition into the WCHA: What should BSU, UNO expect?

Re: Transition into the WCHA: What should BSU, UNO expect?

Looks like a few of you are treading on thin ice if you want an invite to the ttp. :D :p ;) :)

What is the ttp?
I thought everyone knew that Wooger is off Gopher telecasts...
I thought he was going to be in "another role". Perhaps in the studio doing pre/post and intermission stuff.

Re: Transition into the WCHA: What should BSU, UNO expect?

These are all good answers.

i would add that they should expect to be amused by the Wooger. But you don't need to be in the WCHA for that...
Also expect Happy to track your progress up and down the Tubes.

Right now the gophers pretty much have the down tubes full. plenty of room in the up tubes, though.

Its looking like the next ttp should be right around the first week of November. :D

You know that place where the down tube ends....it is full. That would be where Tech lives.

Re: Transition into the WCHA: What should BSU, UNO expect?

they will need to get some lube... and not only for skeeterman's visit

Re: Transition into the WCHA: What should BSU, UNO expect?

I'd expect at least a couple of Beaver jokes from the UW student section. Although I'm sure they've all been heard before.

Now there's no reason to watch those games. Unless I want the mental image of Scooby sighing.

Re: Transition into the WCHA: What should BSU, UNO expect?

If Minnesota State is any guide, their best year in the WCHA may be their first year. MSU-M was 21-14-4 their first year in the league, its been bumpy downward slide ever since.

It will be interesting to see UNO's attendance next season. They drew over 10,000 for the Michigan games last season and in the 5,000s for Bowling Green type opponents.

Re: Transition into the WCHA: What should BSU, UNO expect?

The crowds should be decent sized in Bemidji next year. I just saw over on some "tweets" from BemidjiSports that the BREC is now 71% sold out (~3200). That includes season tickets, student allotment and the WCHA requirement for opposing teams. It was also stated that 10% (~450) of the seats will be held back for individual game sales.

Now they just get to go to Anchorage instead. ;)
Closer flight by 300 some miles :)

I would guess that Minneapolis is to St. Cloud as Anchorage is to Fairbanks.

My brother in law lived in Fairbanks for the first 15 years of his life. He thought it was great. Then they left. He now knows that it sucked.

And they'll probably be pretty bad jokes as well.

Expect some very obvious puns about giving BSU a good licking...

If any BSU players end up growing good playoff beards, I think you know where it'll go.

Re: Transition into the WCHA: What should BSU, UNO expect?

I'm not the authority on BSU hockey but UNO didn't make a ton of noise in the CCHA so i doubt they will in the WCHA...although the cream of the crop CCHA teams match up with the best of any other league in most years it is clear that top to bottom the WCHA is better than the CCHA so i see that as a problem for the Mavs

I think Mankato was already Oliver. Probably depends on who you talk to.
Wait, I thought we were Cindy.

Not only bumpy, but full of splinters.

I think Bemidji should take on the Bobby personna. The precocious and often overlooked youngest boy, Bobby was often portrayed as a whimsical dreamer, fantasizing about having various adventurous lifestyles.

Don't know about the precocious part. ;-o
