I know Woods is still the #1 player in the world, but I wouldn't have selected him. He's been inconsistent as heck. He's going to bring a ton of media that will be distracting and he's not that good in the Ryder Cup. I may get shot down for it, but the U.S. won the Cup back WITHOUT Tiger in Valhalla.

You know, I don't think he's ever really been a good team player for the Ryder Cup. I belive the USA has done better without him on the team.

Picking Tiger was a no brainer in my mind. The picks of Cink and Johnson also come as no surprise.

What I'm really excited about is Pavin picking Fowler. I'm already dreaming of a potential McIlroy v Fowler pairing in Sunday singles.

Tiger is a monster in the President's Cup, but that isn't the pressure cooker that the Ryder Cup is. I'm sure Pavin is going to pair Woods and Steve Stricker together because they seemed to play well together last year in the President's Cup.
 
I thought Tiger has done better of late in the Ryder than he did previously, but I could be wrong. And he wsn't inconsistent, he was down right abysmal but lately has shown a lot more than he had the several months of the year.

Tiger and Stricker lose 6 and 5. Tiger should never lose any matchplay by that margain. I hate being proven right.

Looks like the US is going to get swept in session three. They'll need 8 points from the heads-up today. I don't see that happening.

Europe always dominates Foursomes and Alternate Shots. US usually catches up in individual matches, but you are dead on, Priceless.

To be fair, Donald/Westwood are no slouches themselves. They're both great Foursome players and they were outstanding that entire match.

But yeah, it's otherwise surprising to see your best pairing to get run off the course 6 & 5.

6-6 now. Things could change quickly...all three matches the Euros lead are 1-up. One match is now Square.

At least Tiger is 2-1...Lefty is 0-3. :(

9.5 - 6.5. The US needs to get 7.5 pts from the singles tomorrow.

They've said repeatedly that the US needs 14 points to retain the cup, and the Euros need 14.5 to take it away. Anyone else out there crazy enough to get up every morning when the broadcasts began in the wee hours? At least this morning I got to go back to bed.
