I have been in a minor funk since then too, as I decided 1) to not predict a winner for that one, lest my heart be broken, and 2) I decided at the last minute not to make the trip down (2.5 hours each way and a late game make for a non-productive next day)

Maybe it's an effort to spread women's hockey. By the way, at the Bog, there will be more people in attendance at that game that ANY of the games those 2 teams play all year. Well over 1000 tickets sold already. I'm sure they will fill the 1200 rink capacity. I think it's a great thing done by both of the schools to promote their programs to local kids. The buzz around this game for South Shore girls hockey programs is tremdous. Kukos to both Northeastern and Providence for making this happen.

Excellent. I'd not looked very far ahead on the Hockey East composite schedule earlier in the year to notice this, and wasn't sure if this was a last minute reschedule of a game from Matthews in favor of the hoop team or something. I agree, this is an incredible effort by the two programs to promote the game to the youth sector.

Great turnout in Kingston yesterday for the PC-Northeastern match-up, with attendance around 1000. Aside from the nice boost in visibility for the two programs, merchandise sales were brisk, and donations to Hockey East's Skating Strides against Breast Cancer were substantial. The skate with the post-game skate with the players was also a big hit with about two dozen youngsters participating.
