Re: This Week In Hockey East, Volume II: Now Even Hockey East-ier!

I can see BU winning three home games and move up past BC in the National rankings this week.

Most intriguing match-ups are Friars at UNH and NE at BC.

On my phone here -- but BU, BC, PC all sweep.

DC you know I love ya but there is not a chance in hell that UConn ties PC.

You would move BU ahead of BC solely based on them beating up on the Little Sisters of the Poor 3x, even if BC beats a real team in NU?

I know my anti-BU bias is hard to overcome but seriously. UConn and Maine are AWFUL. Would you move up Duluth if they swept Lindenwood?

THere is more to it than just wins and losses. If BC continues to give up 4 to 6 goals in games, that is a factor into the equation. BU won convincingly last weekend, BC just squeeked by in both games, almost blowing a 7-2 lead and then need OT to win the other game. If that pattern repeats, then BU passes BC, as BU will also have the surperior overall record by then at 9-1-1. Now if BC wins convincingly both of their games, then they will stay ahead, so the ball is in their court to prove they deserve to be where they are.

Long story short, just like last year, BC is hard to figure out. The good news is that if it is like last year, things are promising for BC, cause last year they peaked when it counted the most, getting to the NCAA final four.

P.S Addendum....

For what it is worth, still think BC is one of two teams from the East with the best chance to get that NCAA title east. Used to think the other is Clarkson, but now that other East team with a good shot at it figures to be Cornell. And despite Brooky's protestations, I will continue to cheer for my D's team first, all ECAC teams second and All East teams third to win the crown this year.

Love ya back, but I'm guessing you didn't think there was a chance in hell UNH would beat BC either. I have to go out on a limb from time to time. (Of course I was on every weak branch of the tree last week, and that didn't work out:o

Heh. Well, to be fair... UNH is a pretty decent team. UConn just doesn't have the talent to keep up with the top half of the conference.
