In the end, the Labour share of the vote was 33.7% only 1.6% higher than in 2019, and far less than 2017. The difference between then and now is that the Tory vote share fell to the lowest point ever in the party's 190 year history, to 23.7% a 20 point drop since 2019.
Sinn Fein was close to flipping a key 8th seat but remained on 7. It does now have the most seats in Northern Ireland, as the DUP dropped to 5. Ian Paisley Jr. of the DUP lost North Antrim, a seat that either he or his father had held since 1970. There probably won't be a reunification vote yet. Union parties are on 40%, reunification 38% and Alliance at 15%. Other parties are at 6%. Alliance as a party has taken no position on the issue, choosing to focus on other matters.
