The "Super League" press conference is now live.

Re: The "Super League" press conference is now live.

I can't watch the press conference at work, anyone care to fill me with a brief summary of what's being said? Are they addressing the "why?" at all or are they sticking with the boilerplate "we're like-minded schools looking to increase our travel budgets" message Any hinting at adding other schools? Any discussion of interlocking schedules with the BTHC? Any TV deal mentioned? Will Biddy be named commissioner?

You didn't miss anything. Stuck exactly to what you said. No interlocking schedule discussion, no TV deal. No commish or HQ either. But they did discuss that there were snacks available before the separate schools were available for media interviews.

Right now it's just six "like minded" ships floating around in the water without a captain to steer them all or a home port... hoping the B1G Harbor decides to let them come play once in a while.

Re: The "Super League" press conference is now live.

should have just gone with The Hockey Conference (tHC).

They should have called it the PBR-M-FST conference, "PBR me fast". (Pioneers, Bulldogs, Redhawks, Mavericks, Fighting Sioux, Tigers) The PBR sponsorship alone would have covered their travel costs.

essentially said they are taking applications from schools. doesn't mean they're accepting schools, but they're open to applications. (looking at you Notre Dame)

National Hockey Collegiate Hockey Conference - it sound pretentious - like they're trying to be the Jr "National Hockey League" or something.

My money was on them calling themselves the "Great Western Hockey Conference"

..........maybe the "Sunset Six"

..........College Hockey America?

.........."NBC/Versus Hockey Conference"

Best post I've read in awhile.

But then it will be in accurate like the Big Ten! When the Sioux change their name it would be become the PBR-M-T!

Not if they change their name to the "Fighting Spirit" since the Spirit lake tribe is unopposed to the usage of the sioux name. I really think that's what UND should do, then they can keep roughly the same name, the logo, and most of their honor. I have been pretty vocal about my stance that unless the NCAA wants to ban all N.A. nicknames, they shouldn't be able to ban only ban one or two. I see it as more of an insult to college hockey that they would attack one of our more powerful schools but won't touch FSU.

Well I would imagine UND would change the name so they could join the (Horizon League?) in DI sports.

It's almost as hilarious as SCSU having to drop hockey in the next ten years. No wait, it's nowhere near that hilarious.
