The States: Why does Minnesota wanna be Kansas?

Where you pulling that from? I would like a source because everything I have seen shows women did not come out and vote for her. Hell she flat out lost White Women in the election.

You're on the wrong path. We're not talking about absolute votes - but rather change from Obama's 2012 election.

Election exit polls. Clinton did better with white women than Obama, worse everywhere else - which is not surprising because he won.

Yeah the difference wasnt enough to offset it. Citation needed.

Re: The States: Why does Minnesota wanna be Kansas?

Look, I'm not trying to start a war here. Well, at least not this time. :D I'm genuinely curious about the makeup of the 2016 electorate. My personal take was always that Chump won over a couple of million more Dems who voted Obama for a variety of reasons from upset Sanders voters to conservadems to people who voted for him to "send a message" assuming that he wouldn't win. However, as a base all things being equal he starts with the 60-62M votes Republicans have won in presidential elections since Bush in 2004. If Trump truly got 7-9M Obama voters to switch, that means he lost 5-7M somewhere (Romney-Clinton votes???) while at the same time Hillary found 7-9M votes from a previously untapped pool (new voters presumably). I find the former scenario more likely, as Chump maintains like a 99% approval rating from Republicans, meaning the 60-62M reliable GOP voters over the past dozen years stuck with him.

Re: The States: Why does Minnesota wanna be Kansas?

Original point: Obama voters switching to Trump was a primary reason he won the white house

Too bad. Being lazy often puts one in a bad spot.

I read the link and they themselves to their credit discuss the flaws in the methodology, particularly relying on Trump voters to tell you that they were all for Obama 2012. Its a nice study, but I take it with a grain of salt particularly due to the fact that she won 3M more votes than he did. If he had that much of a net gain, I find it improbable that she went and found 8M new voters to vote for her. I'll note the study doesn't directly address that question either.

OK...good. Its not meant to be exact science. Better said: 8M (or even a small fraction that) votes switching sides pretty much guaranteed the results. In WI, 11K voters switching sides would have won the state... and 40K voters switching sides in 3 states would have won Trump the presidency. This has been the point all along.

Oh Faux

Kruta also wrote a Daily Caller piece about her experience in which she characterized the Ocasio-Cortez/Bush rally as “truly terrifying,” because “I saw just how easy it would be, were I less involved and less certain of our nation’s founding and its history, to fall for the populist lines they were shouting from that stage.”

She went on to mention three scary things in particular.

I saw how easy it would be, as a parent, to accept the idea that my children deserve healthcare and education.

I saw how easy it would be, as someone who has struggled to make ends meet, to accept the idea that a “living wage” was a human right.

Above all, I saw how easy it would be to accept the notion that it was the government’s job to make sure that those things were provided.

Truly scary stuff!

That's perfect, now they can say it costs too much and get rid of it altogether. Or be totally inconsistent as always and just keep demonizing poor people despite how much it costs to do so.

That might work if 99% of Kentucky's population wasn't on Medicaid or Medicare! :D Funny how the so-called "conservative" states are always the ones with their hands out.

She’s been a candidate for what, a month? And she’s already getting this kind of treatment? JFC.

She is DANGEROUS!

What then to do about Alex Ocasio?
Miracle wondergirl
Hero of fools.
No riots, no armies, just plenty of slogans.
One thing I say for her, Alexandria is cool.

We dare not leave her to her own devices
Her half witted fans will get out of control.
How can we stop her?
Her glamour increases by leaps every minute, she's top of the polls!

I see bad things arising
The crowd crows her queen which Wall Street will ban.
I see blood and destruction
Our elimination 'cause she's not a man!

FOOLS!
You have no perception.
The stakes we are gambling with are frightfully high!
We must crush her completely.
....
