The States : red states in a race to the bottom

Yeah. Andy is masterful at painting himself as a pragmatic, bipartisan Christian who wants to help everyone, including Republicans. It’s his brand. He won in 2023 not because he won more votes than 2019 (he didn’t), he won because he didn’t activate/galvanize Republican voters against him. It helped running against a black guy too, but I digress. Point is, yeah, Andy comes off as a centrist. That’s the way he wants it. I don’t think he is actually centrist at all, but if he portrayed himself as AOC, I don’t have him as my governor right now.

TL;DR He doesn’t talk the talk, but he unequivocally walks the walk.

Absolutely. That’s why I loved Tim Walz. Still do. He’s a straight-shooter. Use being a milquetoast white man to your advantage. Pretend you’re centrist, don’t activate the other side, and then pass the progressive policies while smiling and talking about bipartisanship. We know Republican voters are stupid and only respond to cultural shit. Don’t talk about that shit and they may never know you’re passing progressive shit. Better yet, you don’t activate them, they stay home, and maybe you can pass more progressive shit. Andy saying things like “I’m a normal Democrat”, like I know that’s irritating sounding to us progressives. Sounds like a diss. It’s a disguise. No, he’s not AOC, but he hasn’t ever been a sellout like Newsom. Not that I’ve seen, anyways.

And for the record, if AOC and Andy are both Democratic candidates for POTUS in 2028, I’ll vote for AOC every day of the week and twice on primary Election Day.

AOC would be interesting. She's probably over-qualified tbh. She would only have a chance though if many Dem voters got off their ass, stopped pouting and voted.

The only Dem voters who won't vote for AOC are Centrists. (and even they will in the general) While some Leftists dislike her openly supporting still being Israel's ally they would crawl over broken glass to vote for her especially after Bernie endorses. That goes double if she runs against a clown like Gavin.

Look at the reasons Democrats stayed home...look at why people support Kat in Illinois and Zohran in NY. The problem is the Dems spit on anyone who is Left of Reagan. That is why Zohran is surging and their approval is worse than Trumps. The more the Dems run to the Center the less support they get. The Center sells everyone out for power and people are tired of it.

Bingo. Hell Tim embraces people not liking him and says he will still help them even if they hate him for it. That is some Dad Stuff right there.

The problem would be Liberals. The Left would show up. They always do when there's a non-conservative-mini-me on the ballot. But Liberals prioritize their comfort and convenience over, ya know, other people's lives and freedoms. That's why Democratic candidates have been safe (and mostly lame) since the 70s: they can always depend on us, but they can't depend on the Center-Left from sulking and even switching to feather their own nest (c.f. Nixon/McGovern, Reagan/Mondale).

Plus, can you imagine what the MSM would do to a true Left nominee? The people who own and run those networks have no intertest in genuine tax reform. The NYT, CNN, and Politico would run thirty stories a day about the horrors of The Terror. Every editorial would begin, "We wholeheartedly support social justice, but we must be practical!"

Liberals steadfastly embrace democratic action and the furthering of equality right up until the point where it actually would cost them the least personal inconvenience. Then they bail. "Utopian" means "Wait, there is a cost to ME? No way!"

Left of St. Ronnie and/or younger than 50 is a DQ for leadership in the Dems at the moment. They love their geriatrics.
I am all for purging everybody over 33, but you should know the conveyor belt is turning out more of the same lame, compromising, captured, co-opted model. The young people produced by our system are every bit as worthless as the Olds.

We need a grassroots takeover to electorally Romanov every political family in the Dem camp, for a start. They are all in the way of real change because they are privileged by the status quo and will never change it.
