The clips floating around of the Oakland city council meeting a few nights ago - where they voted on a resolution to call a cease fire, someone wanted to insert language condemning Hamas and then some people lost their damn minds was not too far off in what I experienced in a council meeting last week

public commentary- people have to give their address before they speak- for legit reasons. Two people get up and give fairly factual, well thought out 3 min presentations on their topic. Then a guy gets up and approaches mic and announces we’re all soviets for wanting his address and where can he get the addresses of the council and mayor? Comms director calmly gets up and hands him a flyer with them all printed and it’s also in the city website. He then sits down as he had nothing else to say.

then, as council was speaking later - to vote DOWN a resolution that you could say many left leaning people wanted- the old boomer couple behind me would not shut UP. Leveled misogynistic comments at all female members of council (these women were voting how the boomers wanted, remember and their words were clearly indicating this) and then a black member of council spoke and the woman behind me sneered that he should go be Kamala’s speech writer.

I don’t think I’ll be attending any future meetings.

So they can feel important. A lot of narcissism combined with "Hey look at me I am super informed!11!1!1" even though they are the exact opposite.

As long as there are a few Leftists to annoy Liberals, we're still doing our job.

Specific acts of rhetoric may be dumb or even uninformed, but it is important to remember that Liberals have never changed America for the better. They sit with their thumbs in their as-s and enjoy the hard-won victories of Leftists. Their only real selling point is they serve as a counterweight to the pinballed-eyed reactionary scum who are constantly trying to drag us all back to the past.

But Liberals will always throw minorities and out groups under the bus to keep their fat, dumb privileged existence, and they will always tut tut at those who actually risk something. They are inert and disengaged, and earning their ire is hardly the infamy they fancy. Your boos mean nothing; I've seen what you cheer.

There are far worse things than being called out by the New York Times and the Democratic Party.

Do you find it hard to walk through doorways with your head so inflated? Good lord do you actually read the things you write sometimes? Even better that you think your point reflects badly on anyone but yourself. Either you are speaking without having actually researched the topic at hand or you are just completely out to lunch.

And I am sorry but you are not a Leftist. (which is what you seem to be implying with your language) You may think you are and in comparison to the people you hang out with you might look like one but no one reads what you say (and how you say it) and thinks you are a Leftist. You are the exact type of Liberal you are ripping. What are you risking? How have you checked your privilege? How is that sweet military industrial complex cash treating you there Karl? You live in Virginia right? I assume you are paying the local native tribes for the land stolen from them right? Only shopping at minority owned businesses and keeping it locally sourced these days? I bet you never shop at any store or with any company that does not support Pride amirite?

I am not sure getting all high and mighty defending people who in public state that Hamas is A) not a terrorist organization or B) was/is justified in their actions on October 6th is the call I would make but you do you Che. And that is what we are talking about here. We are also openly mocking why the City of Oakland felt the need to even deal with it. It was bad enough when the Cal State system did something similar but that was a bunch of academics trying to pretend they have any insight into a situation because they read books and have lots of White Savior Syndrome. But why is Oakland weighing in? Do they really think that Bibi is going to stop being a full on pr!ck and murderer because they made a proclamation? The TSA has more value...

You know what the real difference between a Leftist and a Liberal is? A Liberal doesn't feel the need for performative theater. Leftists think because they got their kid's school to change it's name from Washington to Susan B. Anthony they are bringing about change. Liberals get on school boards to protect education. Oh and Liberals win elections Leftists sit at home then protest after the fact because they have no ability to strategize. Leftists have the better merch though and their social media game is on point!

Now if you will excuse me, my Liberal azz needs to go back to work. I will bring up your concerns at the next union meeting and will for sure let all my minority students and LGBTQ+ students that you are on the case!

Cops were there serving a,warrant and depending on the source there was gunfire.

This is the dedicated reddit thread. The homeowner is (was?) a paranoid schizophrenic who posted endless screeds on social media that his neighbors and their children were gangstalking him and he was being tortured by cyberweapons. His proof was he heard voices.
