The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Listened to the whole game on Vermonts site......new PC is great, we have a power play !!!!! Now lets get 2 more points on Saturday nite....Go Friars

So the GameTracker has been stuck (for me) for the entire 3rd period.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

i was there tonight. This team is real good this year. Very opportunistic and seem to have more skilled players than people gave them credit for. Atmosphere at games would be better at Schneider with a live pep band. Doesn't seem to be asking for alot.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

This was a solid win tonight...They were down real early in this game and bounced back.

I think the biggest difference is the fact that that some of these guys like Schaller and Army are much more skilled then they were last season. Could it be a difference in coaching or did they just get that much better?

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Anyone have an idea when/if Shane Luke will ever crack the lineup? Some of you guys were saying he could be a difference maker for the Friars.

My understanding is Luke still has eligibility issues

Demopoulus is out with a concussion

Also getting the impression with the nwcomers Norris will not be coming to PC.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Even though it's just a couple of games in it's nice to see PC ahead of UNH and BU. Hope it last.

Disappointing about Norris given his numbers, but it sems like Leaman has really been doing a great job of recruiting so hopefully they can absorb that. Cav you always seem to have your finger on the pulse so perhaps you can answer this....Laplante is on the roster, but ineligible for the season, do you know the reason? The same is true of Murphy but I would assume that is due to his transfer status so that one I can understand I just wasn't sure if anyone knew the reason for Laplante.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

This is how we should feel all the time.....another 4 point weekend, hope the troops can keep it up......they don't quit, what a welcome change.....Great job Nate.....go Friars

LaPlante played one period of pro hockey and was ruled ineligible for the season.

Julien Laplante being told not to come to Union after playing 20 minutes of a Western Hockey League exhibition game, the Dutchmen's goaltending was in a state of flux.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

So is it safe yet to think the Friars have a chance to win every time they play?

Nice weekend.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Great job by the Friars grabbing 4 points from the weekend!

Decent crowd at Schneider tonight all things considered but I have the feeling that it won't be too long before people realize that they are missing out on some very good hockey being played for short money in their own backyard. There is a bit of a buzz about this team in the early going of the season and I love how there has been a steady increase in the numbers attending the games at PC. Granted the place is still far from being banged out each night but there are certainly have been more walk ups over the last few weeks.

BTW Early call for next week is that PC gets another 4 points.

Absolutly have a chance to win but more important is that they will continue to try and win until the final horn sounds.......this is a major change from the past teams

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Very good weekend for the development of this team. Taking 4 points from any HE team in 1 weekend is something this program has had trouble doing in recent years. This is an encouraging sign for all of us as fans of the Friars.
