The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

I'm excited. It should be a good game. The Athletics Dept is doing a promotion at the game to tie it in to Late Night Madness--Bracelets will be distributed near the end of the third period that will give the wearer access to a VIP entrance for Madness (aka no lines). I've already heard students talking about how they plan on going to the game just to get a bracelet for Madness.

I really hope this is finally the year things turn around at Schneider. I've got a good feeling about it.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

I'm looking forward to PC regaining some, not all, of their past glory!

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

It will be great seeing massive student support at the game......maybe 91 will break out the purple pants........I only hope they play hard thru all 3 periods and show signs that they are a team, a win would be great but a team effort would mean even more to me

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

I'm just glad I'll be able to buy a hot dog tomorrow night!!

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Between giving the students bracelets for the later midnight madness and the mission 3000 video (which is on the hockey blog) - seems like there is an effort to have the arena rocking tonight. BU is a very tough opener, but looking forwared to get the new era of Friar hockey started.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

I just read in the projo that Noel Accairi has not qualified with his academics and is out for this season. Just wondering if he qualifies next season is he a freshman or a sophomore when he steps on the ice?

I'm looking forward to tonight. BU is a tough opener but both teams play each other close most nights so it ought to be a great game!!!

I hope the students show up in mass. They'll have a blast if they do.

I would think that would be considered a "redshirt" year....

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Providence lineup is out for tonights game. With Rooney and Adams hurt and Luke just eligible i would imagine it would look a little different in a week or two. Fourth line looks real weak at first glance with Simon and Maloney on the wings and Brown at center. Brown is a defenseman converted to center for at least this game.

A student athlete has 5 years to complete 4 years of athletic eligibility. The 5 years are consecutive and the clock starts ticking once the student enrolls in school.

You are technically correct. He would be a sophomore academically, but still have 4 years of eligibility left to play.
