The PPACA Thread Part IV - Repeal & Replace, or Something...

Re: The PPACA Thread Part IV - Repeal & Replace, or Something...

Nope, if California can start figuring out things like health care on their own the more likely they're going to realize they're better off on their own and not be wanting their money propping up poor red states.

I don't think CA wants to ensure the rump USA is always led by authoritarian f-cktards with nukes, because they can leave the Union but they can't move off the continent.

That's step 206.

And while not much can be done about the ICBM part of the triad the potential PR could carve out a good slice of the other two. Heck a good chunk of the sea part is already in the West.

Re: The PPACA Thread Part IV - Repeal & Replace, or Something...

Popcorn, please.

Brooks, a member of the House Freedom Caucus who advocates a full repeal of the health care law, worried there may not even be a vote at this point.

"But this monstrosity needs to be repealed and right now, in my judgment, we don't have the votes in Congress to pass a repeal bill, in part because of what these people are doing," he said.

Brooks said that House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) doesn't really support a full repeal of the ACA and merely supports amending the law.

"They’re calling an amendment a repeal in order to deceive the public," Brooks said.

The congressman argued that President Donald Trump also does not support a full repeal.

"Quite frankly, I don't know that this administration supports a full repeal," he said. "To the contrary, the President has expressed support for some of the provisions that are in Obamacare. And if that's the case, if that ends up being the administration's position, then that is not a repeal of Obamacare, that's an amendment of Obamacare."

When the host mentioned Trump's support of a provision of the law that lets parents keep their children on their health insurance policies until age 26, Brooks argued that Trump supports other Obamacare provisions, too.

"Remember when Donald Trump publicly stated during the campaign that he's going to make sure everybody has health insurance?" Brooks asked. "That's Obamacare."

I for one welcome the coming Tarantino standoff between Trump, the Freedumb Caucus and the GOP Leadership. If they all shoot, we all win.

It's best for the Democrats if they repeal the POS and don't do anything else. So, here's hoping that wins. Certainly that mentality is winning on the Immigration and LBGTQ rights fronts.

They're waiting for the Big One.

think of the federal funds paying for that!?!?!? lord know each and every insurance company will become "too big to fail" and declare bankruptcy :p

Replacement means the globalists win. Full repeal, now. Nothing further.

You do know the GOP is more aligned with The Globalists than the Dems, right?

Right?

He's a troll or he has completely and irreparably lost touch with reality. Neither are worth your time.

It's fun having him on ignore. I only see his BS when people quote it now.

I wish you could set it up to completely remove all of his postings. Don't even give me the blank slate showing that he posted and giving me the option to read it.

Putting this here too since it got no traction in the POTUS thread.

Great article on what tying Health Care to employment does to the work force.

Based on what I see every day out of both parties we have given up on trying to make things affordable. If I were running things I would take the high risk pool and give them all Federal Government Insurance. Take the money out of the defense budget to pay for it. With those people out of the regular insurance pool everyone else's rates would drop dramatically. That's basically the same dynamic Medicare provides by taking old people out of the regular insurance pool.

It's also the same dynamic that was supposed to occur in public education with special ed. But, the Feds to this day have never come through on their promise for funding for that.

See, this is what I see as our biggest problem in Government today. There is no logic being applied to what is the Federal Government's responsibility and what should be happening at the lower levels of government.

That makes too much sense so it will never happen. Privately insured high risk pools will not work and will never work. This is just one of the many pieces of the puzzle that needs to be figured out. But "Nobody knew healthcare could be so complicated!!!!"
